"No Effort Required"

We must be willing to let go of the life we have planned, so as to accept the life that is waiting for us. ~ Joseph Campbell
A dancer leaps from the stage, a grand jete, filled with grace that can only be the result of an empty mind. Great athletes, artists, people ‘employ’ an innate sense of the absolute to defy the physical limitations that confine most. There is no thought that it is not possible, only the overwhelming desire for freedom.
Some men have thousands of reasons why they cannot do what they want to, when all they need is one reason why they can. ~Martha Graham
Grace ushers us from moment to moment if we allow that; if we do not have too many thoughts that say it is not possible. Life is exactly what we’ve always wished for, if we don’t get in the way. The dance does not proceed if we stand on our own toes.
In June allow ‘grace’ to sweep you off your feet, to find your inherent direction and let go in order to enjoy the freedom of waltzing through life without a care in the world. Not easy you say? Okay if you say so. After all it is your experience and it will be exactly what you want it to be. You might ask however, who is in charge? And am I being led on a mighty goose chase only to discover that what I really want is right back where I started from. Whew! What an exhausting journey. When completely done with the pursuit of the illusive waking up, finally we rest in exactly what is here and voila! That’s it! So simple.
There are so many things we would not dream of questioning—the setting of the sun, the movement of the river, waking up each morning to a new day. Why do we question our true nature from which all else arises? Why do we seek, and therefore must doubt, Reality and instead abide in the suffering brought about by confusion? Not questions that require answers only consideration and only if one desires freedom. Otherwise we scoot along doing the very best we can and in a way it is all the same, as everything is ‘that’ in every moment. One way the ‘ego’ takes responsibility for our life and drives us mad. The other way, there is no need to control anything as it all happens regardless of any apparent participation by any ‘me’. Me only exists in relation to other and both do not exist as they are already and always ‘that’.
As soon as you believe that a label you’ve put on yourself is true, you’ve limited something that is literally limitless, you’ve limited who you are into nothing but a thought. ~ Adyashanti
In June as we approach the longest day of the year, (June 21st) with daylight hours extended there is a natural optimism that frees us from some limitations. There is a desire to experience the freedom one felt as a child when the months of summer brought liberation from teacher, books and desk. One could create from the imagination and follow that vision wherever it might go. We were free to Be simply. We flowed as the river flows. In the classic Rider Waite deck these qualities are represented in the Page of Cups.
The Page of Cups is the inner child, our pure, creative and innocent nature without the conditioning that later would obscure our sense of Self. The inner child experiences no boundaries or limitations as everything is possible. All comes from the heart, is the heart.
In esoteric symbolism the fish is spiritual ideas or awareness. The fish in this page’s cup is indicative of his connection to Self and therefore an endless source of free flowing energy that is emotional peace and joy.
The other two cards for June are: Seven of Swords indicating the freedom to escape the perpetual deluge of thoughts that would otherwise drive us hither and yon in a confused state of frenzy, chasing rainbows and tilting at windmills. In this card the young man moves forward with ease and grace, burden is no longer a word in his vocabulary. The number seven represents the overcoming of challenges that then allow life to flow with greater peace.
Nine of Wands where the hard work has been done, all fears and concerns have been relegated to a position of inactivity. As such the young man who has obviously fought his battles can rest in a place of confidence. Nines are a high level of attainment and as Wands are the last suit, of inspiration and spirit, he has conquered the issues of the other three levels—of the physical, the emotional and mental and can therefore relax and enjoy in his knowingness.
In Chinese astrology June is the month of the Horse the animal with whom we associate freedom in spite of the long history of servitude to man. An image of a horse running across an open space uninhibited, unfettered makes our spirits soar. We have memories of being unfettered that this image triggers. Then ask your self what is between me and freedom? The ‘quest’ for June, liberation, freedom.
New Moon 05.17/18.15 @ 26 deg. Taurus 56 minutes
0:13 a.m. 05.18 EDT 09:13 p.m. PDT
Also, Mercury retrograde 05.18 @ 13 deg. Gemini and direct 06.11 @ 5 deg. Gemini. Practice patience and acceptance. Take time to reflect and relax. Be observant rather than critical and tolerant as “stuff” happens i.e. miscommunication, not hearing. Back up and approach from a new direction.
The New Moon is preparation for this Mercury retrograde as slowing down and being still is what takes place naturally with the moon in Taurus conjunct the Sun—at peace, secure in proximity of the ‘greater’ luminary; basking in the warmth and light of awareness. Blessed with freedom to Be without restriction or incessant ‘worry’ about anything that has anything to do with this physical reality.
Taurus the sign of establishment, once knowing security of physical reality/illusion of duality, has the potential to transcend concern for the basic necessities and be liberated to express the higher octave of Venus (ruler of Taurus) unconditional love or our true nature. These two astrological ‘moments’ are simply unfolding with perfection as is all creation regarding our apparent movement toward Self realization.
It came to my attention recently that the moon due to the speed of the rotation of the Earth is or has been moving away from the Earth at approximately 3.8 cm. per year, an infinitesimal distance given the enormity of space. However, symbolically, this combined with humanity moving out of the Kali yuga and into the ‘lighter’ or less dense Dwapara yuga increases the grace and ease with which we may experience our Self. The moon symbolizes the instinctive nature and the past, those patterns of emotional behaviour that influence us and have the potential to create limitations and suffering.
The distancing of the moon from the earth=detachment or allowing and accepting what is rather than being controlled by the ego to react in such a way that is often uncomfortable.
There are very few close aspects to the New Moon. Saturn at 1 degree Sagittarius creates an out of sign opposition that has a 5 degree separation. Saturn’s weighty dynamic even when mutable has the effect of anchoring one to the ‘issue at hand’. That specifically will be different for every individual but essentially the same for all in that old patterns that do not serve us must go! Upon porcelain, every blemish is a distraction. Saturn, that stands at the threshold of the physical plane, whose rings represent beliefs that are grounded in relativity and as such hurdles to be leaped on the way to liberation is an enormous gift to us; the bracing slap in the face lest we are too distracted to ‘wake up’ from the dream.
See that humanity is cradled as a dew drop on a leaf, on a branch, on a tree, in the soil, on the Earth. See that humanity is a crest of the wave and the infinite ocean. See that I am that, could not be otherwise. A tiny fleck of water hurled through the air amongst the spray, falling back to the sea or dissolved by the noon day sun—gone while “that” remains, always, never changing, infinite. I am “that”.
This dance of two earthly elements Saturn and Taurus reaching beyond as far as the eye can see encourages us to elope with the unknown, to believe in our wildest dream and to actually feel the stability of having nothing and knowing nothing except what is in this moment—the perfection of that and the peace it is.
Mars, 7 degrees away in Gemini, the warrior has wings on his feet and is apt not to dally in whats, whys, whens or wheres. Flexible, agile and moving from experience to experience he has mastered every nuance necessary to complete his education therefore prefers to touch briefly as he assumes his flight of fancy. Woe be to those who endeavor to clip the wings and cage the beast. He will don the cloak of invisibility and be seen no more. With Neptune square the hero he may dash about tilting at windmills but in earnest while the rest of us look on at the scene through a vast picture window sipping mint juleps and adjusting our conversation.
Sweet Venus ruler of Taurus even sweeter considering her position in Cancer though an opposition to Pluto will ensure that desire remain on an impartial plateau and that nurturing, caring is inherent to all beings and as such there is no need that drives me to take care of you but to attend to my Self as a means of giving to all.
Undoubtedly these few days will pass by and life goes on as usual except that those invisible energetic waves that propel us forward or inward take us deeper without us even knowing. Therefore, nothing to do or be concerned about as ‘it’ is all happening as we speak. Freedom is and now for me to just accept that.
Full Moon 05.03.15 @ 13 deg. 23 min. Scorpio 11:42 p.m. EDT 08:42 p.m. PDT
“The mind creates the abyss, the heart crosses it.”
~Nisargadatta Maharaj, author of I am That
Vastness swallows us whole over and over and over…in every moment our cares, whims and dissatisfaction are lost in the endless Reality of Being that has not a thought let alone consideration for any individual desire.
The light of this Full Moon filters through the shadows and the darkness, reaches deep into awareness dispersing doubt, confusion and reminding us that the cycle that is humanity–birth, death, rebirth and regeneration–the realm of Scorpio and the 8th house, is an individual experience in the midst of Being. In the midst of Being, as if swallowed by an ocean, there is no individual, there is no separation and there is no suffering. Suffering is a thought. A situation is intolerable? The situation is, intolerable is a thought.
Scorpio divests us of all unnecessary accoutrements; all those many layers of accumulated perception that have contributed to beliefs that are not true in this moment. Byron Katie ‘the Work” focuses attention on what is true in this moment. What we know to be true is here and now and far less than what we ‘believe’ is true. When we rely on perceptions or ‘our’ understanding of situations everything is filtered through a warped lens of habitual patterns of thinking.
Venus ruler of Taurus, the sign the Sun occupies presently is 29 degrees ahead of Mars co-ruler of Scorpio where the Moon resides for approximately 2 ¾ days beginning at 6:47 p.m. on May 2nd. This is a constructive relationship between two planets that are generally described as ‘having differences’. Next door to each other they offer support and wisdom based on what they experience without sacrificing a thing to ‘maintain’ relationship.
Relationship exists, is an aspect of experience but the notion of separate components is where the problems arise, all based on our perception of ‘need’. I need that which appears to be outside of my self. How can anything be outside of everything or the Absolute? The problem is with individual identification.
If we allow for what exists always and accept what is in this moment there is no need to traverse any crevasse or troubled waters—they are just waters—there are no shadows or darkness just what is occurring, the natural unfolding of the Absolute. Everything that arises from this ‘one’ is an expression of “that”—this one or that one, us we them—all the same an expression of “that”. One entity cannot be okay and another not.
Jupiter that vast gaseous giant to which we attribute qualities of wisdom and benevolence and expanded awareness exactly squares this Full Moon (within a few minutes) and is accompanied by Juno. In mythology these two were husband and wife and did not experience marital bliss perhaps as they were also sister and brother. Jupiter/Jove was well known for his many dalliances that provoked Juno to commit some desperate acts of retaliation. The lovers of Jupiter suffered the consequences of her anger and were turned into various different animals or features in nature, trees, streams etc.
In this Full Moon chart with Venus and Mars working together and Jupiter and Juno in friendly conjunction it is an opportunity to experience harmonious abidance and recognizing that we all share the essence of Being. We are all this Being here in physical reality. Compassion, love presides as a result of the liberty from all of the mind constraints that have limited us for a long time. We let go of expectation of others to provide us with anything and rest in knowing that whatever is, is what is happening.
Jupiter square the Sun and the Moon provides a rather ‘influential’ energy for trusting rather than resisting and realizing Self not as separate from what is but as “that’ which is always, never changing, stillness, silence when the mind settles into knowing of the heart rather than thinking. During this Full Moon enjoy the freedom of observation without thought or expectation. If it feels uncomfortable being stripped to the bone remember the discomfort is only a thought and peace is what is beyond that thought.
Full Moon 03.05.2015 @ 14 degrees Virgo 50 minutes 1:05 p.m. EST 10:05 a.m. PST
“The aspects of things that are most important for us are hidden because of their simplicity and familiarity” ~Ludwig Wittgenstein
When our attention turns inward and the mind ceases to judge, the ability to heal old wounds occurs as we provide a non threatening environment for release and expansion.
Slowly the structures that we have developed as a result of environmental conditioning relax and begin to collapse through broader vision.
As we proceed through the enlightening, transformative times of Pluto/Uranus in square aspect (the last exact one occurring 03.17 of this year), we benefit from this pervasive energy that moves us to eliminate the dross and to be inspired by the prospect of freedom. Freedom from the inhibiting beliefs that are ego centered and sourced from the past. As we are so aware there is only this moment that we experience now, anything else is not. All of our sense of identification is based on what we think we know of the past. If you put all of your memories in a box, in other words they cannot be accessed, how would you identify your self?
This Virgo moon may have great capacity for memory but the Sun opposite in Pisces just wants to let go—no boundaries, no inhibitions. Virgo’s tendency is to analyze. What it discovers at this time due to the lofty arrangement of planets is an expanded version of a former picture that was based on quiet, yet often judgmental introspection. If we continually judge our selves the resulting state of contraction is one from which liberation is quite impossible.
It is fortunate that Jupiter, gaseous giant is positioned to best guide us to a wider perspective, one of allowing and knowing that promotes openness. Semi-sextile (30 deg. separation) the Moon, trine Uranus and Venus and the apex of a Yod with Sun/Pluto at the base or sextile (60 deg. separation-a Yod involves 2 planets 60 deg. apart called an inconjunct or quincunx, 150 deg. separation, from a third planet-also known as the finger of God), Jupiter yields power at this Full Moon. As a planet that is associated with beneficial influence it would seem we are likely to shrug off insecurities and fears and inhabit enthusiasm and optimism for all of life and Being.
The Moon in Virgo will share an energy of surrender and service to the ‘highest good’ in this pursuit of what lies beyond the petty, mundane perception that we are limited to existence as this body/mind. The gift of Virgo is willingness to provide the necessary ‘research’ for furthering our ‘education’. The ability of Virgo to focus on any task to which it is set, results in a dedicated desire for that which serves the vehicle. Sensitivity to the external environment as well as the internal environment creates discriminatory action as regards people with whom we associate and food we choose to ingest.
With the outer planets also involved at this Full Moon, whatever stands in the way of discovering Self, the Truth of our essential nature, will be scrutinized and eventually ejected.
With awareness growing we will continue to notice the illusory nature of reality and persist in letting go of any notion that that is who I am. The inspired moment arrives when we realize that who/what we are is not anything that moves or changes or ceases to to exist. There is a long moment of deep satisfaction as we embrace Reality that includes a great deal of not knowing. My beliefs do not serve me. What then without them? Give your self time to explore the possibility that there is no answer to your questions or rather that there is only one answer to all of your questions and that is the Absolute, one essence; that which is everything and nothing.
As we stand and gaze in adoration at the Full Moon consider that the power with which it mesmerizes us is also leading us to deeper inner reflection that inspires us to a larger vision and greater understanding of what constitutes the human being. This understanding unfolds perhaps slowly at first but quickens as we sift through layers of thought that cease to ring true. And as is also Virgo’s preference, there is little desire to embellish or include unnecessary factors that complicate an efficient resolution to any situation. Be prepared for a few simply poignant days.
Full Moon 02.02.2015 @ 14 degrees Leo 48 minutes 06:09 p.m. EST 03:09 p.m. PST
Waves of silver light,
Full Moon devours everything.
My cup sits empty.
Leo rules the 5th house of the astrology chart and represents the place where we
express self, realize self, create, procreate and frolic in romantic bliss or fulfill sexual desire. The state of one’s 5th house influences all of these areas of one’s life. The extent to which you find your self occupied with these affairs will reflect the sign on the house cusp and aspects to planets in the house etc.
For this Full Moon in Leo (conjunct Jupiter) allow your self to fully express what your heart desires. Jupiter, planet of optimism and good will, higher purpose and expansion will assist the moon to connect with generosity and benevolence; what lies there often unspoken for fear of…It is a time to pour forth and have gratitude for the deeper aspect of one’s emotional nature. Feeling what is there is a great gift here if we have the courage to allow these feelings to surface.
There are no mistakes. Be sure to trust that whatever arises is coming from a place that has no judgment or expectation. The freedom you feel will eventually provide you with peace. You know inner stillness and all doubt subsides. With this moon involved in a yod, finger of god, with Chiron/Mars and Pluto in sextile, there is pressure to resolve and heal whatever emotional wounding may have limited you in the past. Uranus trining the moon is extra emphasis to let go the attachment to whatever pattern no longer serves you. Ultimately that would be the pattern that says I am this body I am this mind—but one step at a time. The whole point of this is not to expect necessarily, instant results but to gently proceed as is your natural inclination—with the blinkers off. The Truth is right in front of us and really it would be hard to pretend we can’t see it. Duality is a nice experience but maybe its time to wake up and see that ‘nothing’ and ‘everything’ are actually the same thing.
Not only does Uranus in Aries (forceful? Yes) grace us with enlightening gestures but Pallas Athena in Sagittarius creates a grand trine in fire that has energy to motivate us all toward brilliance—shining our light from source, wisdom and knowing that even for a split second may be the ah, hah moment from which you never look back! There is a moment of Truth in the deepest desire of our hearts that will not go unnoticed or unfulfilled in some way.
Even if you think or feel like nothing is happening you can be sure that on some level we are all being given an opportunity to allow, and bask in the light of pure Being. It requires absolutely nothing but perhaps immense gratitude for life and being alive.
A Full Moon like a reflection of the soul swallows one whole. Immersed in a limitless pool without thought there is only peace and the everlasting knowing that I am “that”.
As one will divide the water through movement, still no sound permeates the still air. In Reality there never is separation.
Full Moon January 04, 2015 @ 14 deg. 31 min. Cancer 11:53 p.m. EST 08:53 p.m. PST
There is nothing you can see that is not a flower; there is nothing you can think that is not the moon. ~Matsuo Basho, 17th century poet
Last year began with a New Moon in Capricorn literally the opposite to how this year begins with a Full Moon in Cancer. 2014 began with the energy and influence of Saturn
immersed in Scorpio leading a chart intent upon peeling away and finding the essential ‘structure’ beneath. With Saturn in trine aspect to Black Moon Lilith conjunct Jupiter we could not help but examine the hand that rocks the cradle, questioning the role of the hand; aware of its function and therefore free of its influence.
The new cycle includes liberation from dependency. And now we approach 2015 from an emotionally more mature place with greater awareness of our motivations. In the dawning of a new year we are treated to a realization via the moon in its own sign of Cancer as it opposes the sun and squares the north and south node; that the ‘path’ to unity (north node in Libra), and beyond suffering is through recognition of the completeness of the individual self (south node in Aries) and in need of nothing external to Self as Self is everything.
The deep feeling nature of Cancer as it ‘sees’ via the inherent confident knowing of Capricorn provides a glimpse of Reality that offers ultimate security as there is nothing missing and there is nothing to do that will alter this Reality. Meanwhile it is observed that everything else changes and is temporary.
The potential is for becoming flexible and flowing with the innate rhythm that permeates all things. Gratitude for being here to witness and experience everything that occurs and for the awareness that arises as a result of surrender. Surrender that is a result of no longer being convinced that I am right. (based on the 5th harmonic of this Full Moon chart that has 6 planets in mutable signs including the sun/moon). The potential is going with the flow.
The test is taking the initiative to step forward in this authenticity and to shrug off the tendency for repetitive expression based on the past. In this moment there is only this reality. In this moment everything exists simultaneously as an expression of the Absolute: def.= free of external references or relationships, not limited in any way. The test is in letting go.
The service is through persistence, maintenance, single minded focus and determination to uphold that which has been gained. To deepen the roots of knowing and share the wisdom that resides in abundance in the heart of our being. (based on the 9th harmonic chart where the sun/moon are in fixed signs). The service is in Being.
The harmonic charts are a slice of the natal chart that are arrived at by division of 360 degrees by 5=72 deg. The septile aspect, 7=51.4—deg. The quintile aspect, 9=40 deg. The novile aspect.
At 14 degrees Cancer this Full Moon is influenced by the star Sirius at the same location, the brightest star in the heavens. Sirius has a long history as a navigational point and by its rising just before the sun, a precursor of the flooding of the Nile. What is it we are being guided toward and what abundance will be the result of this journey? To answer this question consider the role of the outer planets in this chart. At 12 or 13 degrees they promote freedom, independence and awakening (Uranus 12 deg. Aries), elimination and transformation (Pluto 13 deg. Capricorn conjunct the sun) and healing (Chiron 13 deg. Pisces) as they aspect directly the Sun/Moon axis.
This is not new of course, the square for example between Uranus and Pluto has just occurred for the 6th time. The 7th and last aspect is in March of this year. These planets have an ongoing relationship of evolving consciousness the results of which are evident in Truth arising.
Neptune, the planet that urges one to go deeper and creates apparent confusion in relation to ordinary reality is at 5 degrees Pisces and in this Full Moon chart opposes Black Moon Lilith and conjuncts the point of fortune.
What this means is discovering the Truth that lies beneath the fear (Black Moon Lilith) of our own nature; in some way confronting the fear of annihilation. This is our greatest desire and where we will find greatest fulfillment (point of fortune). With the BML in Virgo, the objective is to realize one self as perfect or absolute, not in need of anything; that is a dualistic objective, attaining what we think we lack. Neptune stands as the mirror in this opposition, ‘you are not what you appear to be’. In other words you are not your mind/body but that which is when all else has been defined. The nebulous quality of Neptune results from the minds inability to comprehend its meaning which lies beyond relative experience.
The opposition of Neptune and BML is squared by Saturn at 1 degree Sagittarius so that focus and determination are added to a desire to know Self. There is no fear or hesitancy with Saturn in Sagittarius but rather a persistent calling to show up in authenticity. Old patterns of authoritarianism are replaced with a longing to disseminate Truth and share the light. The arrow that Sagittarius directs upward has the potential to illuminate as it crosses the skies and expands our vision. This supported by Mercury, Venus and Mars in Aquarius the sign of freedom and enlightenment. How we think and communicate, what we want and how we act become communal or collectively centered. Personal acquisition makes little sense. We open up even more to this experience as one with everything and in the big picture find peace in knowing it is all Love. Deep abidance in the heart confirms this.
During these several days before and after this Full Moon in Cancer express gratitude for the guidance you receive, the abundance that is everywhere in your life and the gift of being here with open eyes!
Thank you and blessings for this amazing life.
Full Moon 12.06.14 @ 14 degrees Gemini 18 min. 7:27 a.m. EST 4:27 a.m. PST
“Nature with equal mind, sees all her sons at play, sees man control the wind, the wind sweep man away.” ~Matthew Arnold (natal moon at 23 degrees Gemini)
The chart for this Full Moon in Gemini is dominated by a mutable cross. The four mutable signs are Gemini, Sagittarius, Virgo and Pisces. Qualities of the Mutable Cross include changeability, integration and transcendence that occur as human beings become more aware of a need that may not be satisfied by anything external to one self. It is said that, the mutable cross conditions the common herd, transforms animal man to an aspirant. Aspirant or aspiration referring to: the greatest gift we can offer the world is our aspiration for endless progress and self-perfection. Through our ascent in consciousness, the world around us ascends. (gurusoftware.com)
The planets and points involved in this Full Moon represent a rather profound movement of energy from some very old and deep fears to a place of healing, recognizing the Self as unlimited and knowing that there is no separation, God and I are one. To begin, there can be a desire to step out of the illusion that we have experienced over and over again. This arrived at through weariness of hitting one’s head against the wall repeatedly. In a grand square, that is a cross, it can seem as though we keep running into the same ‘dilemmas’ without rest, e.g. apparently being taken advantage of by other people and rarely receiving what you think you want no matter how much you give to others.
The Sun/Moon in opposition, when finally we become aware that there is nothing outside of my self that is not me or my true nature. Sun in Sagittarius, all beliefs that would limit one from knowing Truth are revealed to be products of a past that do not exist in this moment. Moon in Gemini, the emotional experience is fleeting, not deep. Memories gain little foot hold here. Feeling the moment or being aware of what is right now is facilitated by this opposition. Squaring this axis of innocence and creative expression, are Chiron, the wounded healer and the Black Moon Lilith—quite a pair! Chiron in Pisces since May 2010, focuses our attention to the wound that lies between the warp and weft of humanity. All the stories that have been told since language first emerged, have woven the fabric we experience here that has certain flaws or the potential to shroud us in illusion.
Those stories are finding fewer footholds in our consciousness. They are being recognized as stories rather than truths by which we are obligated to conduct our selves. The notion of suffering as part of the human condition has new light cast upon it. We are enjoying life in ways that we have not allowed our selves the pleasure of in centuries past. The Black Moon Lilith spurs Chiron into an expediated healing process by reflecting that our wounds so easily deny us ‘access’ to Truth. One must be brave enough to explore the depths of nothingness that BML is in order to gain freedom. BML is a point in space not a planet or an asteroid where the shadow of the moon at its furthest from the earth stops. The focal point of a shadow in dark space—our fears run rampant here and yet when we embrace the meaning of this point we see that it is an eternal place, and as it is nothing also contains everything. There is enormous light in the deepest, darkest aspect of existence.
A mutable cross, nothing sticks, the breeze is apt to cast off any notion that desires to cling or even remain stationary. We know that everything on this planet is temporary and that is not my true nature. My true nature is what remains always ‘unaffected’ by any occurrence, event or doings of any human being.
Mercury conjuncts the Sun in Sagittarius; we know the mind as servant and find mastery over thoughts. This guided by a Uranus/Mercury/Sun trine. Illumination is for all those ready to receive. Mars just into Aquarius at 1 degree; innovative, ingenious, visionary, confident utilization of energy to benefit the collective. A quintile to Uranus (72 degrees-5th harmonic, potential for human creativity) ensures the elevated expression of this Mars. Moon/Mars sesquisquare (135 degrees-a do or die aspect). Accidents will happen if we do not pay attention. Don’t get distracted! Uranus and Pluto in exact square. De-structuring continues as this square moves closer to its final square that occurs in March 2015. Uranus and Pluto both aspect the Sun/Moon emphasizing the dissolution of patterns whether we like it or not.
If we keep in mind that liberty is the final outcome none of what we appear to lose seems to have much relevance. Jupiter, growth and Saturn responsibility, squaring off in fixed signs contribute some needed practical grounding to this chart. As anchor they ensure that wisdom and discipline guide us to being here in physical reality in a way that serves all of us.
As the last Full Moon of the year let us not forget to express gratitude to our selves for the amazing persistence we have in leaving no stone unturned in our quest to know Truth. And to the synchronicities that inevitably find us in the right place at the right time to receive exactly what we need in any given moment. And to our acceptance of what is in this moment as being the perfect expression of the absolute—could not be more, better or different. May our sails be filled with the wind of change that inevitably carries us home.
New Moon November 22, 2014 @ 0 degrees 7 minutes Sagittarius 07:32 a.m. EST
04:32 a.m. PST
“Our life is not a means to finding truth; life is the expression of truth…
Where the truth may lead is revealed by our life, not in advance of it. The truth is that life is filled with risk, and to live truth is to live constantly at risk.” ~Robert Wolfe, Abiding in Nondual Awareness
It is the task of Sagittarius to boldly convey the Truth discovered during the long night of the soul in the realms of Scorpio. During a New Moon we yearn for pure expression of that which is intuited on a deep level. There is no light to reflect what might exist consciously. There is freedom to express purely from a place of awareness—the fresh perspective of the infant. For an adult this does feel risky and yet the ‘reward’, knowing Self, outweighs the fear.
The story of Saturn continues to play a dominant role in this New Moon chart as it conjuncts the Sun/Moon and squares Jupiter ruler of these two in Sagittarius. Jupiter, great element of lightening up, accessing wisdom as well as a sense of humor. We may have been taking things a little too seriously of late, feeling burdened and limited. Many thoughts have the potential to limit. So numerous are our ‘burdens’ that taking time to define them, in Saturn fashion, becomes a waste of energy. Suffice it to say that every blow to body, mind, spirit has left an imprint that can act to obscure the path ‘home’.
For some few it is obvious, for others as we wake up to say, the nature of the life we have been living as false, there is a need to ‘clean house’ of beliefs that have kept us in a holding pattern that never allows us to take off. The combination of aspects during this New Moon are not radical or bound to lead us to an edge that requires a leap. They are a somewhat subtle and persistent continuation of evolutionary energy that promotes the slow dissolution of collective patterns/beliefs that eventually one by one, open us to Truth. Obviously if the mud you waddle in is deep, it can take you longer to reach the shore.
The ability to make decisions at this time may be hampered by opposing forces—that of critical thinking (Mercury conjunct Saturn in Scorpio) versus brazen desire (Venus in Sagittarius). The result of this may be inaction or conversely action that uses wisdom to fuel any efforts to create monumental change in the area of personal psyche; a reminder that Uranus is still squared by Pluto and therefore the underlying impetus to evolve and transform for the highest good is a deep motivation. As these are outer planets they affect all levels of activity here.
Jupiter square to Mercury/Saturn tends to push for generosity of spirit rather than the spirit of dissection, severity, discipline—being discerning as to what does not allow one to be open–open hearted, open minded; moving past self criticism to self love and out of isolation to inclusion.
“Your visions will become clear only when you can look into your own heart. Who looks outside, dreams; who looks inside, awakes.” ~Carl Jung
Perhaps the most dangerous secrets are what we keep from our selves—unwilling to look inside for fear that what we find is either too dreadful to deal with, or that we are agreeing to take full responsibility for our life, daunting no matter how this is approached. No other way than to face whatever need be faced on the way to liberation. Fear has kept us captive far too long. With Mercury conjunct Saturn in Scorpio one may be very fearful and at the same time find the courage to approach what does not serve one with the precision of a surgeon, fully capable of slicing away the diseased portions of this form in order to uncover healthy tissue beneath.
And recall that Jupiter in Leo shares the lion’s facility for bravery in aspect to these two making it easier to delve even a little deeper than one might otherwise find possible. Jupiter wants to say, “there now everything will be just fine”. And Sagittarius displays audacity that would mock those of a timid nature. All we need do is remember some famous Sagittarians to know their tendency to forge boldly forward where others fear to tread. This group includes, Martin Luther King Jr., Winston Churchill, Noam Chomsky, Walt Disney, Tina Turner, Miley Cyrus, Steven Spielberg, Jon Stewart etc.
During these few days preceding and following this New Moon focus on challenging your self to uncover something previously lying hidden from view. If your intention is clear you will probably find that others show up as willing guides for your creative endeavor. These are gifts and should be accepted with appreciation. And while you are at it, don’t take your self too seriously. You can’t make a mistake.

Full Moon November 6, 2014 @14 degrees Taurus 26 minutes 5:23 p.m. EST

“There is elegance and grace in knowing that is reflected to us in everything we witness. It begins when a thought no longer elicits reaction.”
Gazing upon the Full Moon is to know stillness. In this moment there is no judgment, no desire to have it be anything other than it is. We have gazed upon this moon so many times. It is so much a part of our awareness that there is only peace as we arrive home. We are in a place of utter acceptance. The experience fills us to overflowing; boundaries fade and the moment becomes the unending sense of not two but one.
The Full Moon in Taurus is the awakening of the self assured. “I have”. In the early stages of discovery is acquisition until satisfaction is achieved. Then we stand in fullness that has nothing to do with anything outside of one self. This Full Moon in Taurus is Venus complete. The vision of the goddess rising from the sea, like the Full Moon, there is perfection and we ask for no more or different or better. We are content and there is peace. We no longer deny our selves or punish our selves by resisting acknowledgement of the source from which all notion of security is derived.
At this time is the potential for ‘elegant transformation’. The swan, head bowed, focused only on the mirror-like surface supporting it as it glides easily through time and space. The 5th harmonic of this Full Moon chart (the 360 degree circle divided by 5=72 degrees-two planets affected by this aspect called a quintile, have the unique ability to usher one into a place of potent manifestation once we traverse the rocky landscape of physical reality) has an exact t-square between Mars and the Sun/Moon opposition. Mars in Aquarius has the vitality to move us through the portal to understanding the fragility of physical existence or duality to the knowing of the Self eternal and the subsequent manifestation of the gifts particular to each individual.
In the natal chart for November 6 is a conjunction of Mars and Pluto in Capricorn—the movement and further disintegration of structures unsupportive to ‘healthy’ growth. The aspect is exact on November 10th and is accompanied by Venus edging closer to Saturn and a square from Jupiter; deep examination of personal desire that can influence all of our experiences, limiting clarity and Self expression—coming from the heart. At the same time is a sextile from Mars/Pluto to Pallas Athena in Scorpio and a sextile to Chiron in Pisces. This geometry is referred to as a small talent triangle that defines the nature of the ‘gift’. We have access to insight and wisdom and a sense of independence to successfully heal wounds that lie, in some cases, far below the surface. In fact the combination of these planets—Mars/Pluto and Pallas and Chiron in these signs—Capricorn, Scorpio and Pisces is a prescription for significant mending of the warp and weft of humanity—affecting each of us equally whether we are aware of this or not.
We continue in our daily endeavors perhaps oblivious to the powerful energetics occurring about us and so smoothly can these transitions carry us from A to B to C that we one day wake up without pain. And it may register barely an ah, hah.
Venus was prominent by aspect in the recent New Moon (conjunct the luminaries October 23) and is again both by natural rulership of the Moon and through proximity to the Sun though separating now. We have had a long hard look at what we want and now as Venus approaches Saturn we have the opportunity to expel excess baggage.
“This road (to knowing Self) is passable, but it does steepen. If you are not intent in your direction, you may access the leveled detours. But if you do take the direct road, be prepared to jettison your cargo.” ~Robert Wolfe, from Abiding in Nondual Awareness
Our ‘efforts’ are continuous and of this we may be unaware. When we glimpse the ‘light’ as we may through the familiar observation of a Full Moon and all comes to rest in the heart, baggage or no baggage, we recognize home. Without the conditioning however we are free to observe everything from a place of stillness. In these next few days we are led into a deeper and profound connection to this peace.
