New Moon June

Gemini generally is out going: communicative, social, exploring, learning through daily experience. During this New Moon however, when we naturally seek a quieter place for contemplation as we plant the seeds that will blossom as our new visions, the ruler of Gemini, Mercury is in retrograde motion. Planets in retrograde motion slow down. Gives us time to think before we act.

Often with Mercury in retrograde motion communication of all kinds can be challenging. Patience is required. And when patience is required we take a step away from our usual ways of responding, expressing, reacting. Mercury retrograde is conjunct the Sun and Moon and so the mind, practicing patience, has opportunity to reset, re-evaluate, re-think some of the beliefs that have been motivating and influencing us; to be aware of what is on a level beyond our conditioned thoughts.

Often, within is what we are less familiar with. Without is a habituated experience. We see, hear, smell and are attuned to everything that goes on around us in physical reality for numerous reasons. This is fine. We can notice at the same time that in this physical reality is lack of permanence. What is, when all physical phenomenon cease to exist? Or what is it that precedes and succeeds all phenomenon? Looking within so to speak leads to greater awareness of a deeper Truth.

These kinds of questions might find there way to the surface whilst we are immersed in the energies of the New Moon and particularly when Mercury is retrograde. The usual answers that may be practical and rational do not seem to suffice now. Inward seeking can provide answers that elude us otherwise.

The Gemini mind will ‘seek’ answers, by nature they are seekers. And when the realm of questions dwindles to just a very few, the answers begin to lie not in words (Gemini forte) but in knowing. Finally Gemini becomes silent. During this New Moon such silence may be pervasive—and welcomed.

Therein are our answers, in the stillness that will dispel confusion, avoid distraction and encourage us to not be dismayed, for instance, by the Neptune square the Sun and Moon but to realize the gift of no boundaries, no limitations that Neptune represents. It is the nebulous quality attributed to Neptune that leads to astrologers describing Neptune as creating confusion.

The gift of Neptune is suspending beliefs in order to ‘imagine’ the unimaginable. Neptune is a doorway from the power of the mind/ego to what is beyond thinking; what lies between the warp and the weft or the structure that defines our human experience. It is no wonder that Neptune is not easily expressed in words as it’s territory lies beyond definition. Any confusion related to Neptune’s influence is simply us unable to grasp with the mind the Truth that is all around us, is obvious and yet lies hidden by the mind and its numerous beliefs; that it cannot be as simple as knowing that my self is a construct whereas Self is without reliance upon any external phenomenon.

Neptune is not knowing, being open to what is out side of the box, what is greater than anything the mind can perceive. As such in order to inhabit the deep waters of Neptune we must surrender, and let go of beliefs all together. The ego is challenged to retreat.

We all have Gemini somewhere in our charts. We all have a natural sense of curiosity that moves us to discover more of life; how we live, express, communicate, reach out and share. Gemini likes to share. There is an understanding of the natural connection of all things that Gemini knows is how we thrive. Thriving is easily achieved when we listen to that which is generated from a deeper level of awareness.

Communication, Gemini’s gift encompasses all that transpires in the realms of connection as communication supports community.

Trees have their communication systems, some consisting of underground root systems that pass information along within the clan. Nature is full of ways of transferring ‘data’ that are not reliant upon words. Everything, as source is motivated by and moved by an eternal, omniscient, omnipresent ‘voice’ that arises from stillness. Communication is a word but we all ‘hear’ the voice and respond to it in the way in which we can and do.

During this New Moon take a look at the house in which the New Moon in Gemini resides and notice if its affect encourages you to delve deeper into awareness of what this house relates to.

Basically the houses take us through a journey from self discovery (1st house) until the ego dissolves opening us to Self discovery (12th house).

New Moon in Taurus and Mercury retrograde

Also, Mercury retrograde 05.18 @ 13 deg. Gemini and direct 06.11 @ 5 deg. Gemini. Practice patience and acceptance. Take time to reflect and relax. Be observant rather than critical and tolerant as “stuff” happens i.e. miscommunication, not hearing. Back up and approach from a new direction.

new moon chart 05 17 15The New Moon is preparation for this Mercury retrograde as slowing down and being still is what takes place naturally with the moon in Taurus conjunct the Sun—at peace, secure in proximity of the ‘greater’ luminary; basking in the warmth and light of awareness. Blessed with freedom to Be without restriction or incessant ‘worry’ about anything that has anything to do with this physical reality.

Taurus the sign of establishment, once knowing security of physical reality/illusion of duality, has the potential to transcend concern for the basic necessities and be liberated to express the higher octave of Venus (ruler of Taurus) unconditional love or our true nature. These two astrological ‘moments’ are simply unfolding with perfection as is all creation regarding our apparent movement toward Self realization.

It came to my attention recently that the moon due to the speed of the rotation of the Earth is or has been moving away from the Earth at approximately 3.8 cm. per year, an infinitesimal distance given the enormity of space. However, symbolically, this combined with humanity moving out of the Kali yuga and into the ‘lighter’ or less dense Dwapara yuga increases the grace and ease with which we may experience our Self. The moon symbolizes the instinctive nature and the past, those patterns of emotional behaviour that influence us and have the potential to create limitations and suffering.

The distancing of the moon from the earth=detachment or allowing and accepting what is rather than being controlled by the ego to react in such a way that is often uncomfortable.

There are very few close aspects to the New Moon. Saturn at 1 degree Sagittarius creates an out of sign opposition that has a 5 degree separation. Saturn’s weighty dynamic even when mutable has the effect of anchoring one to the ‘issue at hand’. That specifically will be different for every individual but essentially the same for all in that old patterns that do not serve us must go! Upon porcelain, every blemish is a distraction. Saturn, that stands at the threshold of the physical plane, whose rings represent beliefs that are grounded in relativity and as such hurdles to be leaped on the way to liberation is an enormous gift to us; the bracing slap in the face lest we are too distracted to ‘wake up’ from the dream.

See that humanity is cradled as a dew drop on a leaf, on a branch, on a tree, in the soil, on the Earth. See that humanity is a crest of the wave and the infinite ocean. See that I am that, could not be otherwise. A tiny fleck of water hurled through the air amongst the spray, falling back to the sea or dissolved by the noon day sun—gone while “that” remains, always, never changing, infinite. I am “that”.

This dance of two earthly elements Saturn and Taurus reaching beyond as far as the eye can see encourages us to elope with the unknown, to believe in our wildest dream and to actually feel the stability of having nothing and knowing nothing except what is in this moment—the perfection of that and the peace it is.

Mars, 7 degrees away in Gemini, the warrior has wings on his feet and is apt not to dally in whats, whys, whens or wheres. Flexible, agile and moving from experience to experience he has mastered every nuance necessary to complete his education therefore prefers to touch briefly as he assumes his flight of fancy. Woe be to those who endeavor to clip the wings and cage the beast. He will don the cloak of invisibility and be seen no more. With Neptune square the hero he may dash about tilting at windmills but in earnest while the rest of us look on at the scene through a vast picture window sipping mint juleps and adjusting our conversation.

Sweet Venus ruler of Taurus even sweeter considering her position in Cancer though an opposition to Pluto will ensure that desire remain on an impartial plateau and that nurturing, caring is inherent to all beings and as such there is no need that drives me to take care of you but to attend to my Self as a means of giving to all.

Undoubtedly these few days will pass by and life goes on as usual except that those invisible energetic waves that propel us forward or inward take us deeper without us even knowing. Therefore, nothing to do or be concerned about as ‘it’ is all happening as we speak. Freedom is and now for me to just accept that.

Mercury Retrograde 01.21.15: Free Falling

A slower motion that allows awareness of the internal environment and messages we receive from this ‘deeper’ level of communication. If your technological devices cease to function or misbehave in ways that are frustrating and deter  progress use this time to breathe, listen and notice what is available in this moment. If presented with the possibility of letting go of definition and ‘seeing’ the self from an entirely unlimited perspective the resultant sense of free fall may be frightening at first but once you get used to it, liberation is exhilarating. In the total lack of identification there is the opportunity for insight and inspiration that we would otherwise miss as these might not exist within the files of our mind. When Mercury speeds up around February 11th–magic happens! Dreams come true! And suddenly you find your self engaged in implementing positive action without any effort at all. Wherever Mercury is transiting your personal chart is an opportunity for awareness rather than thinking and insight rather than analysis. The answer to our questions is within stillness.
