Full Moon/Lunar Eclipse 04.04.15: Freedom from Illusion
Full Moon/Lunar Eclipse April 4, 2015 @ 14 degrees Libra 24
8:05 a.m. EDT 5:05 a.m. PDT
As we grow in our consciousness, there will be more compassion and more love, and then the barriers between people, between religions, between nations will begin to fall. ~Ram Dass (April 6, 1931 Sun/Uranus conjunction in Aries square to Pluto)
With the Full Moon in Libra opposite a strong Uranus/Sun conjunction (and still squared by Pluto) we are working on liberating our selves to inner peace as awareness. This is emphasized by the lunar eclipse representing endings and beginnings and moving us further toward Self knowing—that is the absence of separation—everything is our true nature.
The will is strong to overcome limitation and to accomplish—wherever you are, the goal is clear and the energy to achieve is colossal! Coming into focus is our relationship issues. Being free of expectation with loved ones that often means discovering new layers of emotional insecurity and willing to feel all of what we may have stuffed away for considerable time. We cannot be in peace if there are buckets of the denied defining our landscape. We must accept “what is”, embrace it all.
In the next few days (the Sun/Uranus conjunction is exact on the 6th) the pressure to let go will be accentuated by various planetary and point positions. The Black Moon Lilith, a power point in the chart where lie our deepest fears and greatest ‘strengths’ conjuncts the vertex, the point where we attract to us those people who can guide/urge us beyond limitations. We can therefore be prepared for possible interactions that will intensify the need to grow beyond self judgment and criticism based upon habitual self doubt. As this is an ongoing process we should be content in knowing that it all serves to weaken the grip of the ego in order to more easily penetrate the illusion.
The mind is open and wisdom that emerges from the heart floods the senses obliterating thought and expanding awareness. In some spiritual practices meditating during this time of a lunar eclipse (or solar eclipse) assists one on their ‘path’. http://swamahiman.org/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/EclipseApr2015.pdf
Saturn remains retrograde in Sagittarius until August 1/2 creating greater focus on that which does not serve us. Saturn’s trine to asteroid Juno brings us face to face with what really irritates us. Our projections are up for scrutiny. Juno, patron goddess of Rome, was frequently dissatisfied as her ‘husband’ Jupiter tended to stray whenever the urge seized him. Juno’s dissatisfaction with her spouse and her spirited acts of retribution is related in many myths. As a goddess of marriage one might imagine that her thoughts pertaining to this institution were quite biased based on her personal experiences with Jupiter.
What a load of thoughts floating about in the collective consciousness! Over the many centuries a lot of thoughts have been generated and hang there influencing humanity in a way that perpetuates patterns. As we flow more easily with what is, without dwelling on judgment or criticism but accepting our experience here, knowing that our true nature is not this accumulation of beliefs, we are free.
Freedom is the nature of Uranus. And as it occupies a position of such strength in this chart and has been lending significant energies to awakening whilst engaged with Pluto,
have no doubt that liberation is assured for everyone; each at their own pace. As Mars transits Taurus here until May 13, it will be interesting to observe as people are less concerned about personal security and more about the overall position of Self as the macrocosm igniting a sense of overall well being.
Idealism then, is not a belief but the realization that this experience here is perfect in itself no matter what appears to be going on around us. There is no I to define it. There is only awareness observing the multitude of expressions of ‘it’ all flowing with perfection in this amazing space.
New Moon 29 degrees Pisces .Spring Equinox.Solar Eclipse March 20, 2015
New Moon March 20th, 2015 @ 29 degrees 27 minutes Pisces
05:36 a.m. EDT 02:36 PDT
As freely as the firmament embraces the world, or the sun pours forth impartially his beams, so mercy must encircle both friend and foe. ~Friedrich Schiller
The last degree of the zodiac! and combined with a Solar Eclipse and Spring Equinox. This would appear to be a pivotal point in the journey. As things are only getting better (climbing out of the Kali Yuga) this must mean an end to a collective pattern that has long created limitation here—could relate to our concept of suffering—the Pisces/Virgo axis is associated with serve and or sacrifice. As we have neared this check point, the feeling is one of needing to let go; the of what? is not specific just that we cannot continue without divesting our selves of whatever ‘nasty’ habits are still tagging along.
This of course in the best of all possible worlds! And yes this is!
The New Moon chart is dominated by 5 planets in water (all in Pisces) so we can be sure that our emotional natures will experience an overhaul as we drift into deeper and more intimate levels of expression. To begin with, friends and family are recipients to this desire for a more compassionate exchange and then the effect trickles outward to include those with whom we have even brief encounters—more tolerance, patience and a feeling that we are all in need of greater understanding as we traverse this sometimes rocky terrain.
Saturn now retrograde, trines the Sun/Moon and lends a degree of added responsibility to our efforts ensuring that we not dawdle or become distracted from our ‘goal’. Saturn also is inconjunct (150 deg.) to Venus which makes connecting with what we may desire a little more challenging. If there is a sense of frustration regarding making things happen for your self, shift your attention to the ‘big picture’, broaden your vision and allow your self to go with the flow.
Pluto/Uranus are in the final stage of squaring off completing a cycle of structural upheaval and dissolution that with the help of Jupiter right now moves everything in a direction of action executed wisely and for the highest good.
Mars in Aries continues to blaze a trail of adventurous, daring discovery of Self within this expanding territory of human experience.
If we look at the 3 harmonic charts related to this New Moon chart we can see more specifically what our potential is (5th harmonic chart) our test (7th harmonic chart) and our vision (9th harmonic chart) as relates to this powerful event.
A reminder that the harmonic charts are arrived at by dividing the 360 degree astrological circle to arrive at the various aspects used to examine a chart. The square aspect for example is 360 degrees divided by 4=90 deg. To look at the 4th harmonic chart or any harmonic chart requires a mathematical process that happily is now performed by computers.
The 5th harmonic = the quintile or 72 deg. and was considered to be a minor aspect. As we relate this aspect to the potential of an individual it would really have as much influence as other aspects. Quintiles in a chart become conjuncts in the 5th harmonic chart. Quintiles demonstrate where an individual has ‘potential’ to successfully move beyond any challenging aspects and embrace what is new and represented by the North Node sign and position.
In the 5th harmonic chart there is a potential to review belief systems from a place of limitlessness while allowing the innate truth to permeate the process all driven by the energy of compassion motivated by Mars in Cancer trine Pluto in Pisces—rising above the animal nature.
The 7th harmonic = the septile or 51.428…also a minor aspect represents the tests one overcomes on the way to utilizing considerable gifts and talents. The 7th harmonic chart for this New Moon has 6 planets in water and 0 in fire. We are transformed not by the fires that purify but by emotional maturation that opens the heart, the waters that flow unimpeded by thought.
The 9th harmonic = the novile or 40 deg. wherein lies the vision of the higher self. Awareness is compassion that ‘guides’ us to a place of absolute rest. Authority rests in awareness without need for control or judgment. Our vision is to be inspired by a moment in which we neither analyze nor define, free to simply experience what is here and to accept that.
The point in the New Moon chart opposite the Sun/Moon is the midpoint between Black Moon Lilith (point of empowerment) at 19 deg. Virgo and the North Node (where we are heading) at 10 deg. Libra. It is 0 deg. Libra 12 minutes. The release point for the New Moon is the point at which we understand the nature of duality—all things find their natural balance—like the tumbler of a lock falling into place—the door opens. All of our cells are set free. We complete. Patterns that have long influenced us, that have been held in place by billions of thoughts of the past disperse and dance uninhibited. For more information: Florian Schlosser The Trinity of Life https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B-7xxS0FN8c
We stop seeking to perfect that which is already everything and therefore ‘perfect’ and peacefully reside in the stillness. The current is alive with knowing.
March 2015 Full Moon in Virgo: Impeccable Insight
Full Moon 03.05.2015 @ 14 degrees Virgo 50 minutes 1:05 p.m. EST 10:05 a.m. PST
“The aspects of things that are most important for us are hidden because of their simplicity and familiarity” ~Ludwig Wittgenstein
When our attention turns inward and the mind ceases to judge, the ability to heal old wounds occurs as we provide a non threatening environment for release and expansion.
Slowly the structures that we have developed as a result of environmental conditioning relax and begin to collapse through broader vision.
As we proceed through the enlightening, transformative times of Pluto/Uranus in square aspect (the last exact one occurring 03.17 of this year), we benefit from this pervasive energy that moves us to eliminate the dross and to be inspired by the prospect of freedom. Freedom from the inhibiting beliefs that are ego centered and sourced from the past. As we are so aware there is only this moment that we experience now, anything else is not. All of our sense of identification is based on what we think we know of the past. If you put all of your memories in a box, in other words they cannot be accessed, how would you identify your self?
This Virgo moon may have great capacity for memory but the Sun opposite in Pisces just wants to let go—no boundaries, no inhibitions. Virgo’s tendency is to analyze. What it discovers at this time due to the lofty arrangement of planets is an expanded version of a former picture that was based on quiet, yet often judgmental introspection. If we continually judge our selves the resulting state of contraction is one from which liberation is quite impossible.
It is fortunate that Jupiter, gaseous giant is positioned to best guide us to a wider perspective, one of allowing and knowing that promotes openness. Semi-sextile (30 deg. separation) the Moon, trine Uranus and Venus and the apex of a Yod with Sun/Pluto at the base or sextile (60 deg. separation-a Yod involves 2 planets 60 deg. apart called an inconjunct or quincunx, 150 deg. separation, from a third planet-also known as the finger of God), Jupiter yields power at this Full Moon. As a planet that is associated with beneficial influence it would seem we are likely to shrug off insecurities and fears and inhabit enthusiasm and optimism for all of life and Being.
The Moon in Virgo will share an energy of surrender and service to the ‘highest good’ in this pursuit of what lies beyond the petty, mundane perception that we are limited to existence as this body/mind. The gift of Virgo is willingness to provide the necessary ‘research’ for furthering our ‘education’. The ability of Virgo to focus on any task to which it is set, results in a dedicated desire for that which serves the vehicle. Sensitivity to the external environment as well as the internal environment creates discriminatory action as regards people with whom we associate and food we choose to ingest.
With the outer planets also involved at this Full Moon, whatever stands in the way of discovering Self, the Truth of our essential nature, will be scrutinized and eventually ejected.
With awareness growing we will continue to notice the illusory nature of reality and persist in letting go of any notion that that is who I am. The inspired moment arrives when we realize that who/what we are is not anything that moves or changes or ceases to to exist. There is a long moment of deep satisfaction as we embrace Reality that includes a great deal of not knowing. My beliefs do not serve me. What then without them? Give your self time to explore the possibility that there is no answer to your questions or rather that there is only one answer to all of your questions and that is the Absolute, one essence; that which is everything and nothing.
As we stand and gaze in adoration at the Full Moon consider that the power with which it mesmerizes us is also leading us to deeper inner reflection that inspires us to a larger vision and greater understanding of what constitutes the human being. This understanding unfolds perhaps slowly at first but quickens as we sift through layers of thought that cease to ring true. And as is also Virgo’s preference, there is little desire to embellish or include unnecessary factors that complicate an efficient resolution to any situation. Be prepared for a few simply poignant days.
New Moon February 18, 2015: 0 degrees Pisces
New Moon February 18, 2015 @ 0 degrees Pisces (*) 6:47 p.m. EST 3:47 p.m. PST
(* In Maynard’s Celestial Guide calendar the New Moon is listed at 29 deg. 54 min. Aquarius. My astrology program says 0 degrees Pisces and I have no logical explanation for this discrepancy. I am going with what Halloran software program displays at the above time which means there are two new moons in Pisces in 2015. The other is March 20th at 29 deg. 27 minutes and this is also a solar eclipse, a powerful way to complete this month punctuated by the last sign of the zodiac where we dissolve into nothing and realize we are everything.)
Deep down, below the surface of the average man’s conscience, he hears a voice whispering. ~Carl Jung
What can we expect with 6 planets in Pisces that include a conjunction of Mars and Venus as well as the Sun and Moon? With the yin/yang elements in agreement and immersed in the well of collective unconscious or absence of thought/belief, guided or motivated by essence, we experience a realm that words can not accurately describe. It is in Pisces that thought becomes knowing and actions evolve from a sense of perfection that permeates the deep waters of our souls.
Is there a tendency with Pisces to drift away and become lost in streams of awareness that avoid connection to the mundane elements of physical existence? Might this be our fate for these few days surrounding the New Moon? It would depend upon what other aspects exist in the natal chart. Pisces people are just as diverse as members of any other sign based on the many combinations of planetary positions.
The chart for February 18th has the benefit of a Saturn square to the Sun/Moon and also to Neptune at 7 degrees Pisces. Though this may manifest in some as insecurity and observing fears that lay hidden in crevasses barely wide enough for the passage of a tiny lizard, in others it is grand vision, compassion and empathy for the human condition; a sense of responsibility to the highest good and to relieving the suffering that has been a defining quality of human existence throughout. In Pisces is found the connection to Christ Consciousness and an elevated platform from which to act without reaction.
We may find, once we have realized the source of our fears, that we have very little to be attached to that would limit us from Being our true nature that is symbolized within this last sign in astrology. Without boundaries or ‘beliefs’ we are free. That is the frightening and nebulous quality of Pisces—it is for the most part beyond the knowable. Pisces people with whom I have acquaintance, are not to be understood in the same way we might understand others. They offer few footholds for those requiring relative connection. We are sometimes left to navigate therefore our own insecurities that prompt us to seek avenues into others psyches.
Saturn in Sagittarius aspecting the luminaries provides an anchor for the practical application of what we find while engaged in exploration of the spaces between the warp and the weft. Saturn is the ballast for the ship that might otherwise float out to sea. The disposition of Saturn is to create parameters, to focus attention and to resist ‘temptation’ that would distract us from our goal.
In the dark of this Moon we will find our selves relying on blind faith with impetus to loosen the grip we have on physical reality in order to embrace the deeper rhythms to which we are eternally tuned. Make way for spontaneous insights that provide magical solutions and allow time for the mystical that has potential to transport us to new ‘heights’. Enjoy the waves of compassion whilst contributing amply to them and notice the kindness with which we are now interacting with each other–grace, patience and peace.
This is the opening of a gateway to the above mentioned; that as we approach the New Moon of March 20th will open further to be all inclusive and continue to ease us from separative thought.
New Moon 12.21.2014 and Winter Solstice! Rebirth.
New Moon 12.21.14 @ 0 degrees 6 minutes Capricorn 8:35 p.m. EST 5:35 p.m. PST
and Winter Solstice. The magic of the absence of moonlight announcing rebirth.
Definition, rationality, and structure are ways of seeing, but they become prisons when they blank out other ways of seeing. ~A. R. Ammons (Mars and south node in Capricorn)
The final New Moon of 2014 is our chance to complete, in the sanctity of inner quiet, whatever we have become aware of this year that we do not wish to carry over into the new year; bits of the crumbling structure that we have chipped away at for ‘awhile’ still in need of a little nudge over the edge. As stated several times over this last year, we have had plenty of help in this undertaking from the Uranus/Pluto ongoing square and Saturn in Scorpio—persistent energy moving us toward waking up and greater awareness. Ultimately a kinder attitude toward one another—family, friends and those with whom we may have differences.
Children are being supported to deliver their message and we, the current adult population are ready to listen. Children have a vision and will be encouraged to express that vision by all of us interested in ways of thinking that elude the older generations. This New Moon in Capricorn bestows a sense of responsibility to ‘the vision’ as we have not experienced before; fresh ideas, unique and unlimited by old beliefs.
“When children and youth are seen as partners in development their participation fosters
ownership and empowerment to contribute to their own well-being and that of society as a whole. (from the World Vision website: The role of children in the post-2015 Development Agenda)
As this is also the winter solstice and symbolic for rebirth throughout history and various cultures perhaps we all have an opportunity to embrace the inner child and arise, unencumbered by conditioned response or reaction. Mars the active force and representing the direction in which our energy flows during these few days prior to and following the new Moon is in freedom loving Aquarius at the point of the bow that would launch into awakening—beyond the known world and into the mysterious and vast unknown. On either side of Mars is Chiron, the healer and Venus/Pluto that is discussed subsequently as the focus of transforming the material desire nature. In opposition to Mars is the Black Moon Lilith that we know as the point at which we recognize the true Self. Mars leading the way ignites our passion to know the true Self and so migrate to inner peace. This supported by the healing of our wounds and less focus upon what we think we want or need here to be okay.
With Saturn at 29 degrees 48 minutes Scorpio this is the final curtain call to scrutinize and eliminate the deep, old collective patterns that restrict and bind us to servitude—serving the ego. We work with these aspects in relation to the blueprint we were given upon entrance. And though it may sound complicated it is quite simple. If you wish to scale a mountain there is a single rope that dangles in front of you—the only means by which to reach the top—you may veer a foot or two to one side or the other looking for the best foot hold but the rope remains the constant source for your ascent.
The final New Moon is a time to clarify the vision you have for the coming year. With Pluto, the planet of power, elimination and transformation conjunct Venus the ruler of desire and relating there will be a honing of what we perceive to be important. In some cases getting to the bare bones of what motivates us will be the driving force at this time.
For others realizing that old patterns influence us in ways that are limiting is just as profound. Wherever this combination shows up in your chart there will be a deep need to purge one self of dependence in favor of authenticity.
It would be impossible to avoid the showering of light that we are receiving from planet Uranus (it is everywhere) that, squaring Pluto and Venus, impels us to throw open the shutters and receive this gift. Suddenly it is realized that focusing on the minutia for a really, really long time we have managed to distract our selves from seeing the big picture. The distraction has been the reality whilst the Reality, always right here, has gone unnoticed except for the vague desire for something I long for but, as of yet, have not attained. (This of course in varying degrees for all of us. Not a criticism at all. It is as it is and couldn’t be more perfect!)
It must be stated also that there are five planets in Capricorn at this time—Sun, Moon, Mercury, Pluto and Venus. This has the capacity to undertake big projects and successfully complete challenging agendas. Not necessary for this to happen immediately. But with this powerful dynamic present to fully design a concept to be completed in 2015 would have considerable potential for standing out of the ordinary. Capricorn is adept at utilizing resources and creating what is of greatest service. Composers/musicians, engineers and architects for instance are often influenced by Capricorn—builders of systems, structures and rhythms.
What is your dream for 2015? What is your desire beyond the accumulation of material assets that contributes to well-being individually and collectively? Allow the inner child to engage in this process and free your self to dive into your unknown world of play and creation. No matter how many times we have dipped our toes into the pool, there is always something new awaiting us. This for the mind in stillness.
Happy celebrations and blessings for a marvelous New Year!
Full Moon 12.06.2014: last of the year
Full Moon 12.06.14 @ 14 degrees Gemini 18 min. 7:27 a.m. EST 4:27 a.m. PST
“Nature with equal mind, sees all her sons at play, sees man control the wind, the wind sweep man away.” ~Matthew Arnold (natal moon at 23 degrees Gemini)
The chart for this Full Moon in Gemini is dominated by a mutable cross. The four mutable signs are Gemini, Sagittarius, Virgo and Pisces. Qualities of the Mutable Cross include changeability, integration and transcendence that occur as human beings become more aware of a need that may not be satisfied by anything external to one self. It is said that, the mutable cross conditions the common herd, transforms animal man to an aspirant. Aspirant or aspiration referring to: the greatest gift we can offer the world is our aspiration for endless progress and self-perfection. Through our ascent in consciousness, the world around us ascends. (gurusoftware.com)
The planets and points involved in this Full Moon represent a rather profound movement of energy from some very old and deep fears to a place of healing, recognizing the Self as unlimited and knowing that there is no separation, God and I are one. To begin, there can be a desire to step out of the illusion that we have experienced over and over again. This arrived at through weariness of hitting one’s head against the wall repeatedly. In a grand square, that is a cross, it can seem as though we keep running into the same ‘dilemmas’ without rest, e.g. apparently being taken advantage of by other people and rarely receiving what you think you want no matter how much you give to others.
The Sun/Moon in opposition, when finally we become aware that there is nothing outside of my self that is not me or my true nature. Sun in Sagittarius, all beliefs that would limit one from knowing Truth are revealed to be products of a past that do not exist in this moment. Moon in Gemini, the emotional experience is fleeting, not deep. Memories gain little foot hold here. Feeling the moment or being aware of what is right now is facilitated by this opposition. Squaring this axis of innocence and creative expression, are Chiron, the wounded healer and the Black Moon Lilith—quite a pair! Chiron in Pisces since May 2010, focuses our attention to the wound that lies between the warp and weft of humanity. All the stories that have been told since language first emerged, have woven the fabric we experience here that has certain flaws or the potential to shroud us in illusion.
Those stories are finding fewer footholds in our consciousness. They are being recognized as stories rather than truths by which we are obligated to conduct our selves. The notion of suffering as part of the human condition has new light cast upon it. We are enjoying life in ways that we have not allowed our selves the pleasure of in centuries past. The Black Moon Lilith spurs Chiron into an expediated healing process by reflecting that our wounds so easily deny us ‘access’ to Truth. One must be brave enough to explore the depths of nothingness that BML is in order to gain freedom. BML is a point in space not a planet or an asteroid where the shadow of the moon at its furthest from the earth stops. The focal point of a shadow in dark space—our fears run rampant here and yet when we embrace the meaning of this point we see that it is an eternal place, and as it is nothing also contains everything. There is enormous light in the deepest, darkest aspect of existence.
A mutable cross, nothing sticks, the breeze is apt to cast off any notion that desires to cling or even remain stationary. We know that everything on this planet is temporary and that is not my true nature. My true nature is what remains always ‘unaffected’ by any occurrence, event or doings of any human being.
Mercury conjuncts the Sun in Sagittarius; we know the mind as servant and find mastery over thoughts. This guided by a Uranus/Mercury/Sun trine. Illumination is for all those ready to receive. Mars just into Aquarius at 1 degree; innovative, ingenious, visionary, confident utilization of energy to benefit the collective. A quintile to Uranus (72 degrees-5th harmonic, potential for human creativity) ensures the elevated expression of this Mars. Moon/Mars sesquisquare (135 degrees-a do or die aspect). Accidents will happen if we do not pay attention. Don’t get distracted! Uranus and Pluto in exact square. De-structuring continues as this square moves closer to its final square that occurs in March 2015. Uranus and Pluto both aspect the Sun/Moon emphasizing the dissolution of patterns whether we like it or not.
If we keep in mind that liberty is the final outcome none of what we appear to lose seems to have much relevance. Jupiter, growth and Saturn responsibility, squaring off in fixed signs contribute some needed practical grounding to this chart. As anchor they ensure that wisdom and discipline guide us to being here in physical reality in a way that serves all of us.
As the last Full Moon of the year let us not forget to express gratitude to our selves for the amazing persistence we have in leaving no stone unturned in our quest to know Truth. And to the synchronicities that inevitably find us in the right place at the right time to receive exactly what we need in any given moment. And to our acceptance of what is in this moment as being the perfect expression of the absolute—could not be more, better or different. May our sails be filled with the wind of change that inevitably carries us home.
Full Moon November 6, 2014 in Taurus: Venus Rising
Full Moon November 6, 2014 @14 degrees Taurus 26 minutes 5:23 p.m. EST
2:23 p.m. PST
“There is elegance and grace in knowing that is reflected to us in everything we witness. It begins when a thought no longer elicits reaction.”
Gazing upon the Full Moon is to know stillness. In this moment there is no judgment, no desire to have it be anything other than it is. We have gazed upon this moon so many times. It is so much a part of our awareness that there is only peace as we arrive home. We are in a place of utter acceptance. The experience fills us to overflowing; boundaries fade and the moment becomes the unending sense of not two but one.
The Full Moon in Taurus is the awakening of the self assured. “I have”. In the early stages of discovery is acquisition until satisfaction is achieved. Then we stand in fullness that has nothing to do with anything outside of one self. This Full Moon in Taurus is Venus complete. The vision of the goddess rising from the sea, like the Full Moon, there is perfection and we ask for no more or different or better. We are content and there is peace. We no longer deny our selves or punish our selves by resisting acknowledgement of the source from which all notion of security is derived.
At this time is the potential for ‘elegant transformation’. The swan, head bowed, focused only on the mirror-like surface supporting it as it glides easily through time and space. The 5th harmonic of this Full Moon chart (the 360 degree circle divided by 5=72 degrees-two planets affected by this aspect called a quintile, have the unique ability to usher one into a place of potent manifestation once we traverse the rocky landscape of physical reality) has an exact t-square between Mars and the Sun/Moon opposition. Mars in Aquarius has the vitality to move us through the portal to understanding the fragility of physical existence or duality to the knowing of the Self eternal and the subsequent manifestation of the gifts particular to each individual.
In the natal chart for November 6 is a conjunction of Mars and Pluto in Capricorn—the movement and further disintegration of structures unsupportive to ‘healthy’ growth. The aspect is exact on November 10th and is accompanied by Venus edging closer to Saturn and a square from Jupiter; deep examination of personal desire that can influence all of our experiences, limiting clarity and Self expression—coming from the heart. At the same time is a sextile from Mars/Pluto to Pallas Athena in Scorpio and a sextile to Chiron in Pisces. This geometry is referred to as a small talent triangle that defines the nature of the ‘gift’. We have access to insight and wisdom and a sense of independence to successfully heal wounds that lie, in some cases, far below the surface. In fact the combination of these planets—Mars/Pluto and Pallas and Chiron in these signs—Capricorn, Scorpio and Pisces is a prescription for significant mending of the warp and weft of humanity—affecting each of us equally whether we are aware of this or not.
We continue in our daily endeavors perhaps oblivious to the powerful energetics occurring about us and so smoothly can these transitions carry us from A to B to C that we one day wake up without pain. And it may register barely an ah, hah.
Venus was prominent by aspect in the recent New Moon (conjunct the luminaries October 23) and is again both by natural rulership of the Moon and through proximity to the Sun though separating now. We have had a long hard look at what we want and now as Venus approaches Saturn we have the opportunity to expel excess baggage.
“This road (to knowing Self) is passable, but it does steepen. If you are not intent in your direction, you may access the leveled detours. But if you do take the direct road, be prepared to jettison your cargo.” ~Robert Wolfe, from Abiding in Nondual Awareness
Our ‘efforts’ are continuous and of this we may be unaware. When we glimpse the ‘light’ as we may through the familiar observation of a Full Moon and all comes to rest in the heart, baggage or no baggage, we recognize home. Without the conditioning however we are free to observe everything from a place of stillness. In these next few days we are led into a deeper and profound connection to this peace.
Good Monday Morning…one day after
Greeting you one day after but with a message for this Full Moon tomorrow: practice not taking things personally. In a time that could be fraught with contention, it is wise to just observe another’s behaviour knowing that it has little to do with you–if there was a you for it to have anything to do with. We are each a screen upon which we project what is being experienced in any moment that may be based upon input from various past but related experiences that might not involve you in any way at any time. Is this something you want to attach to in a way that causes discomfort or down right suffering? Probably not.
The issue of there not being a YOU–it does not mean that the physical body and the mind do not exist, it means that as something separate from the Absolute, they do not. The Absolute is referred to as “all that is” because? Well, because it is everything. That means “I am everything”–no separate existence; it is not possible.
Two Steps Of the Journey by Mahmud Shabistari
The journey of the pilgrims is two steps and no more:
One is the passing out of selfhood,
And one toward mystical union with the Friend.
(Sufi poetry abounds with symbolism so that the term Friend refers to the One or Absolute presence. It was a protective measure lest they be named ‘infidels’.)

“The dramatic message seems abundantly clear: exposure to profound illumination is exposure to definite risk of radical transformation of one’s material existence or security. The willingness to risk is not separate from the openness to awakening. One who is not willing to take this risk—of possessions, career, family, security, stature, future and past—has encountered the first barrier, the eye of the needle.”—Robert Wolfe, Living Nonduality
This Full Moon is aggressive, feisty and tempestuous! It has the potential to blast us free of tenacious emotional and behavioral patterns as Uranus, the great awakener conjuncts the moon and together they trine Jupiter and Mars–all in fire. Burn baby burn! The sense of security dearest to us may not be what serves us. In a flash of inspiration whatever it is that stands between me and the freedom to express my self fully (Aries “seeks self”) is heaved into the flames without hesitation. Mars in Sagittarius is impetuous, bold and thinks nothing of hurling one self over the edge of the cliff to deal with the consequences later. Well, guess what? There are no consequences. Not that makes any difference really.
Perhaps the ego suffers a little bruising as I give up thoughts that I should be this or that, something more, better or different; just more expectation that creates disillusionment.
Now there is the clarity to stand up to the ego and free one self from long held believes about the nature of our existence (none of which is true). This is accomplished with a great deal of enthusiasm (again thanks to Aries). Too long have we dawdled between what we erroneously assume is our responsibility here and really living life! Jupiter in Leo and ruler of Sagittarius suggests in a very loud voice that we go for it and express from the heart. It would be possible to become enamored of one’s own greatness, bigness, importance with this trine except for the very fortunate square between Venus in Libra and Pluto. Venus in Libra is about fairness, balance and harmony and Pluto in Capricorn is not likely to allow any desires for self promotion to stand in the way of real liberation. That is the whole point here.
This is another wake up call set for repeat. We are taking this rising into awareness seriously. As of October 4th, Mercury is retrograde in Scorpio, couldn’t get more perceptive and adept at finding what does not serve an individual; to release them selves from the discomforting thoughts of mortality. When Mercury went retrograde, the moon was in Aquarius ruled by Uranus the planet that now conjuncts the moon and insists on evolution for our highest good. We will shine our light. It is our deepest desire to dwell in the heart of the true Self. This takes us back to the Pluto square Venus aspect that eliminates individual desires that eventually leave one feeling lost and lonely once we have cycled through a pile of them to say, “now what?”
And if we consider that as Mercury went retrograde Saturn was squaring the moon in Aquarius we get an even clearer picture of what this Full Moon illuminates for us as well as this period of Mercury retrograde; that is disciplined and focused attention upon overcoming limiting emotional dependency. Anything I take personally has the potential to create separation in which case I can perpetuate the vicious cycle of neediness.
Of course there are a few side effects of the energy surrounding these few days that we may want to prepare our selves for. A fire grand trine is more energy than some can handle especially if the chart is predominantly water or earth. The essence of Truth, the rising of awareness may impel one to be rather blunt.
As the energy builds the momentum could drive you to excessively straightforward expression that seems foreign to your tongue. You may unwittingly offend dozens of people as you travel, a whirlwind unleashed and unstoppable, devouring all that moves and is unmoving only to find that there is no devouring taking place. All that lies in my path has always been a part of me—I am that. Finally, I lack the social conditioning to delude my self further. Thank God for that! Or my Self. Same thing. I am eternally grateful for continuous presence beyond all else and my determined-ness to wrestle the ego into a place of subservience long enough to know freedom, the joy of release.
It feels so good! Think about mending the scorched and tattered field of experience later. Maybe when I look back I will see there is nothing that requires mending; nothing out of place or in need of smoothing or soothing. So deep has the mind travelled of recent that words are not a factor in the consideration of any action or reaction. The mind dwells in a place of tranquility and stillness a place of thoughtless observance–peace. This is not a quiet Full Moon or one that is celebrated with the usual appreciation. This Full Moon demands our unwavering dedication to the light within. We may oooh and aaah at its splendid magnificence but deep within we know that it is my self that shines as brightly. It is my self that captures my attention as a shining luminary, as the object of my apparent desire. We need not move an iota to capture the essence of the one who stands staring with adoration at the silvery orb that has kept us company throughout the centuries and more.
