that is a wish for all of us together–to embrace
in the most tender ways.
"No Effort Required"

The heart swells at the familiar.
How grateful one can be for the
waves that perpetually
roll to the shore,
the moon in various
stages rising above
the everyday occurrence.
The noise, the activity,
the grim, dim, shining,
effervescent, silence
trickling across this abundant,
scarce, dry
floodplain of humanity.
Ten sun salutations!
For life in all its
color is
a grand
Being.
Dim light stretches across the horizon
Into the cracks, Into the belly,
Into the memories brought here by stray thoughts
Marching in the mist, an army sure of victory
–denied success.
The sun slowly rising
Strewing silver slivers
Needles of light
Piercing the belief of night and day.
“If after every tempest come such calms,
May the winds blow till they have waken’d death!” ~ William Shakespeare, Othello
Today there is a new moon that is occurring as this is posted. A tidal wave of emotion about to flood this plain we call home and drown us all in the rapture of freedom from identity and judgment, from the limitation of the mind that spits out, with regularity and punctuality, thoughts to which we are enslaved; to the story that is the island in the ever rushing stream of consciousness cradling us.
There is a tempest brewing that has long battered this wall, raged against the fear and feigned indifference to that from which the tempest surges. The waves have tossed me back and forth until dizzy with confusion and torn to pieces by the winds, finally I relent. Peace then abides not only in this heart but everywhere I look. Even in the apparent cacophony of collective voice there is a hum that unites every light wave. Every light wave a source of joy, rising, fluttering, diving, skipping to and fro and yet ‘this’ remains still, tickled by every movement, intrigued, mystified and graciously bowing to every voice that cries out from the dark for ‘some of that’.
Who are our heroes? Who is it that we look up to and long to emulate? Often those people who are spontaneously living life to the utmost and reaping the rewards for bold action, often in service to others, are those that many admire and respect—great artists—poets, writers, painters, dancers, sculptors, musicians—and anyone who allows the passion of their true nature to lead them rather than being directed and resistant due to ones fears.
The ordinary man is involved in action, the hero acts. ~Henry Miller
A hero is not one who wants to save the world but someone who has the courage to let go of everything that resembles ‘security’ in order to experience one’s humanity (if anyone appears to be saved in the process it is only that the person has realized a truth that affords them similar liberty)
A hero ‘sees’ clearly and therefore moves with confidence, not through need or the will to succeed. A hero is not directed by the ego but pure exhilaration. ‘Seeing’ is the soul stretching its legs, taking ego by the hand and dancing through the night. In the morning it is apparent that under the stars, in the mysterious moonlight a wedding takes place and of the subsequent banquet there is neither guest nor groom nor bride just a satisfaction uniting moment to moment.
The tempest is not something we struggle against. It is something we engage with to the furthest edges of our reality in this moment and to the utmost, the very frontier of knowing; that one might be ready to embrace everything and willing to have nothing. With nothing we are more joyful than when we thought we had everything—there is nothing to lose ever. We are already everything and nothing; that which eradicates and transforms with a power that simply is.
One astrological comment: this new moon has an opposition from Pluto (that which eliminates and transforms) to a Mercury/Mars conjunction at 14 degrees Cancer. At this time the NASA spacecraft New Horizons is sending photos of this tiny planet back to earth, a 4 hour journey, that rate it as the most youthful surface of any planet in the solar system with geological transformation possibly still occurring. They have discovered a mountain range there that has appeared within the last 100 million years relatively recent compared to the age of the solar system at 4.56 billion years.
Pluto in opposition to Mercury/Mars upheaval and transformation of the thoughts that direct our actions and in Cancer—giving way to feeling, sensing that knows the truth rather than assuming based upon collective patterns.
Full Moon 07.01.2015 @ 9 degrees Capricorn 55 minutes
10:20 p.m. EDT 07:20 p.m. PDT
Behold the full moon, behold my Self. Into every crevice light shines, finds its way amongst the wounds, the dreams, the tiny heart fluttering gives it a kick start and voila! Leap into the void, beliefs tumble into forgetfulness; suddenly not there, only a perpetual sense of the mystery—and no need to understand!
Running the rapids with an expert team of navigators is how we approach this Full Moon in Capricorn. The waters may seem turbulent but there isn’t one inch of the experience that we need fear. Like the down grade of a monster roller coaster we simply throw our hands in the air and go along for the ride. There is never anything out of place or occurring that is not that which is always and everything and therefore could not be different, more or better.
Efficiency, persistence, confidence, focus, discipline—nothing is carried that is not necessary to the journey. All excess baggage dropped along the way. With the outer planets engaged ‘mountains will move’; mountains of thoughts that have accumulated over millennia. Thoughts, the basis for which was and is no more, not in this moment. Not happening now. Simplicity is what is here in this moment now.
During the Full Moon on the west coast there is a deeper sense of compassion, generosity, creativity and wanting to share that unfolds as a result of the highlighting of Uranus in Aries trining Jupiter/Venus in Leo conjunction both sextiling Mercury in Gemini. Uranus the ‘awakener’ in easy aspect to the very benevolent Jupiter/Venus pairing can only mean the lightening of some perceptions of what it means to be here. Wisdom prevails allowing for a great sense of the ‘universal justice’ that moves everything. The resulting freedom from worry or concern, the notion that I must be responsible or effective allows one to experience stillness.
The mind (Mercury in its own sign, Gemini, between Uranus and Jupiter/Venus) functions but is no longer in control. There is awareness that I am not my thoughts which come and go. My true nature is always not temporary. I may have a thought now and never have that thought again. If I am defined by these thoughts if they no longer existed would “I” then be no more?
Mercury then becomes a partner to and a servant of the unchanging, ever present Reality prepared to express and communicate from a place of observation rather than judgment.
On the east coast the effects of this Full Moon may show up as a practical implementation of revolutionary business concepts with far reaching benefit for humanity. Seeds that have been planted are breaking the surface and will continue to grow to enhance human experience here. Well, its already happening what changes is the resistance to some of these out of the box concepts and though we are slow in this country to embrace that which is for our own health and well being, the trend has been set.
It is a strategic Full Moon in that those in favor of what serves the highest good without actually knowing what that is stand up from those who would rather continue to fight for what serves the individual. Ultimately rather than creating greater separation there is greater awareness of unity.
After four years of writing Full and New Moon articles I am going to take a break from story telling. There really is no more story to tell as you may have noticed if you read these articles regularly. They all sound very similar. Something may or may not show up in their absence. As someone who enjoys writing it is entirely possible. In the meantime, thank you for your participation and support.
New Moon 06.16.2015 @ 25 deg. Gemini 07 min.
EDT 10:05 a.m. PDT 07:05 a.m.
As this New Moon is in Gemini we ask what is the ‘messenger of the gods’ up to? That is Mercury, ruler of Gemini (and Virgo) known as Hermes in Greek mythology, the son of Zeus, king of the Greek pantheon and Maia the eldest of the seven sisters that are the Pleiades. On the 11th of June Mercury went direct allowing us to resume communicative activity without delay or interference. In fact with Mars conjunct the luminaries for the next few days the intellect, razor sharp, may zip through tasks and seek more to do–especially anything that directs one toward the ‘big picture’.
The underlying structure of the New Moon at 25 degrees Gemini is an exact grand trine (3 planets 120 degrees from each other) involving Uranus in Aries (evolution and illumination), Jupiter in Leo (generously and compassionately spreading the word) and Pallas Athena in Sagittarius (wisdom and ‘defense’ of Truth or upholding Truth). Profound underpinning that energetically circulates the essentials of the ‘big picture’=illumination, compassion and Truth with ease and grace, the nature of a grand trine—energy moving in a continuous flow–a passion for eliminating that which is not balance and harmony. This is a fire grand trine so plenty of energy to move us along.
The nature of Mercury is changeability. The sign Gemini is mutable indicating an ability to move quickly from one experience to the next as we continue to dance our way through all that fascinates us here learning the art of detachment and continuing the journey.
Although 6 planets are mutable in this chart, Saturn returning recently to Scorpio (a fixed sign) from Sagittarius offers a serious anchor for those who might otherwise feel ungrounded and another opportunity to examine whatever lies hidden hindering our ability to leap when necessary. Saturn completes its retrograde motion August 1st on the west coast and August 2nd on the east coast at 28 degrees Scorpio 17 minutes. As Scorpio represents the cycle of humanity birth, death, rebirth and regeneration there is a desire to understand this cycle as a relative experience; that our true nature is that from which this cycle emanates, not the cycle it self. When we realize the essence of duality, our truth is simultaneously known.
Gemini, the twins, implies two whereas the Truth is ‘not two’. However, the experience of two is necessary in order to recognize the Absolute. Here two exist within one and the motivation toward dissolution of the notion of separation is what drives us to seek many experiences. At this time assistance to successfully attain our goal appears in Black Moon Lilith at 6 degrees Libra and conjunct the North Node (where we strive toward). In Libra the quest is balance in the environment that results in stillness in the inner environment.
Stillness, peace is the absence of thoughts to which we are attached that create ‘not peace’. The Black Moon, the darkest depths of space, inherently knows stillness and all that does not contribute to this looms large in our field. Almost with exaggeration does the influence of BML move us from ego based desire and fear toward a place of pure observation and living without editing what shows up on the screen based upon patterns from the past that have nothing to do with this present moment.
BML trines Mercury within a degree so that subliminal messages can be expected. It may not be obvious what motivates some of our actions over the next few days but we may be sure that these actions will be supporting our highest good. Therefore trust your self and any insights you have now and always. You will see clearly that this is the easiest, most graceful way to be here. Everything occurs even without our constant need to manipulate and control.
The message is to deeply focus on, not what moves and changes but that which does not; that which is the fabric of the fabric. The intellect that directs us, may carry us to the edge of what is known of physical reality but it can not take us to what we are and have never not been. When the intellect directing ceases to be the authority we are free to Be without the supervision of a limited source. We are free as unlimited source.
As always the planets guide and as we are all at various stages of the journey our directions will be interpreted accordingly. Honoring the way in which you find your self uniquely expressing on the journey is as essential as being on the journey it self. It is the experience we want and can do without the judgment. Even that however, if that is what is happening is okay. But why judge what we know to be perfect as an expression of the
Absolute, all that is. How can that be not okay?
We must be willing to let go of the life we have planned, so as to accept the life that is waiting for us. ~ Joseph Campbell
A dancer leaps from the stage, a grand jete, filled with grace that can only be the result of an empty mind. Great athletes, artists, people ‘employ’ an innate sense of the absolute to defy the physical limitations that confine most. There is no thought that it is not possible, only the overwhelming desire for freedom.
Some men have thousands of reasons why they cannot do what they want to, when all they need is one reason why they can. ~Martha Graham
Grace ushers us from moment to moment if we allow that; if we do not have too many thoughts that say it is not possible. Life is exactly what we’ve always wished for, if we don’t get in the way. The dance does not proceed if we stand on our own toes.
In June allow ‘grace’ to sweep you off your feet, to find your inherent direction and let go in order to enjoy the freedom of waltzing through life without a care in the world. Not easy you say? Okay if you say so. After all it is your experience and it will be exactly what you want it to be. You might ask however, who is in charge? And am I being led on a mighty goose chase only to discover that what I really want is right back where I started from. Whew! What an exhausting journey. When completely done with the pursuit of the illusive waking up, finally we rest in exactly what is here and voila! That’s it! So simple.
There are so many things we would not dream of questioning—the setting of the sun, the movement of the river, waking up each morning to a new day. Why do we question our true nature from which all else arises? Why do we seek, and therefore must doubt, Reality and instead abide in the suffering brought about by confusion? Not questions that require answers only consideration and only if one desires freedom. Otherwise we scoot along doing the very best we can and in a way it is all the same, as everything is ‘that’ in every moment. One way the ‘ego’ takes responsibility for our life and drives us mad. The other way, there is no need to control anything as it all happens regardless of any apparent participation by any ‘me’. Me only exists in relation to other and both do not exist as they are already and always ‘that’.
As soon as you believe that a label you’ve put on yourself is true, you’ve limited something that is literally limitless, you’ve limited who you are into nothing but a thought. ~ Adyashanti
In June as we approach the longest day of the year, (June 21st) with daylight hours extended there is a natural optimism that frees us from some limitations. There is a desire to experience the freedom one felt as a child when the months of summer brought liberation from teacher, books and desk. One could create from the imagination and follow that vision wherever it might go. We were free to Be simply. We flowed as the river flows. In the classic Rider Waite deck these qualities are represented in the Page of Cups.
The Page of Cups is the inner child, our pure, creative and innocent nature without the conditioning that later would obscure our sense of Self. The inner child experiences no boundaries or limitations as everything is possible. All comes from the heart, is the heart.
In esoteric symbolism the fish is spiritual ideas or awareness. The fish in this page’s cup is indicative of his connection to Self and therefore an endless source of free flowing energy that is emotional peace and joy.
The other two cards for June are: Seven of Swords indicating the freedom to escape the perpetual deluge of thoughts that would otherwise drive us hither and yon in a confused state of frenzy, chasing rainbows and tilting at windmills. In this card the young man moves forward with ease and grace, burden is no longer a word in his vocabulary. The number seven represents the overcoming of challenges that then allow life to flow with greater peace.
Nine of Wands where the hard work has been done, all fears and concerns have been relegated to a position of inactivity. As such the young man who has obviously fought his battles can rest in a place of confidence. Nines are a high level of attainment and as Wands are the last suit, of inspiration and spirit, he has conquered the issues of the other three levels—of the physical, the emotional and mental and can therefore relax and enjoy in his knowingness.
In Chinese astrology June is the month of the Horse the animal with whom we associate freedom in spite of the long history of servitude to man. An image of a horse running across an open space uninhibited, unfettered makes our spirits soar. We have memories of being unfettered that this image triggers. Then ask your self what is between me and freedom? The ‘quest’ for June, liberation, freedom.
Full Moon @ 11 degrees Sagittarius 49 min. 12:19 p.m. EDT 09:19 a.m. PDT
There is such a thing as perfection…and our purpose for living is to find that perfection and show it forth….Each of us is in truth an unlimited idea of freedom. Everything that limits us we have to put aside. ~Richard Bach
Limitation is a concept pertaining to duality. It is the result of thinking there is any one that may be limited. Limitation is a judgment and confines us to the never ending search for “perfection” when that is our natural state. If we think we are not, then naturally we will seek that. And as we perceive my self in relation to others then we will begin by seeking outside of our self for what will contribute to our sense of perfection. I must be more, better or different than I am now.
This Full Moon in Sagittarius is involved in a mutable cross (4 planets that square each other and two sets of opposition). Mutable relates to the quality of the signs these four planets occupy. Mutable signs allow change. They are flexible and apt to go with the flow; the wind that has no limitations. The wind in a windstorm has been used to describe a mutable grand cross. There is a great deal of tension inherent in a grand cross. It is a dynamic configuration that is highly motivated to seek resolution to the discomfort of the tension. In this case with the Sun/Moon in opposition, Neptune and Black Moon Lilith in opposition and all squaring each other the way to ‘peace’ is through recognition of Truth that lies at the ‘center’ of the square.
Deeply situated in a ‘place’ that transcends all of the thoughts that I am this or that or anything to do with a Grand Cross is the knowing that these thoughts are my limitation. In the Grand Cross I bump up against my self creating my self outside of or appending my true nature. In the windstorm the only ‘place’ to rest is in the eye of the storm, the center, the one place where I sit in stillness knowing that ‘this too shall pass’. It is just a storm. It tugs at the hair and clothing but has no effect upon “that” which is everything and nothing and exists still, even when the storm has passed. Let it be therefore and be “it” and unattached to the storm that ceases to exist as quickly as it arose.
With Neptune standing in opposition to the Black Moon Lilith there is a desire to defy limitation or ignore it as a manifestation of duality. Black Moon entices, draws from Neptune the greatest gift the ruler of Pisces offers and that is dissolution—of beliefs that structure our world. The solution is dissolution and in the environment that is the realm of this frozen giant, the winds that rage at 1500 m.p.h., the fastest in this universe, dust will never settle.
With Mercury and Mars conjuncting the Sun (All in Gemini. There are 8 planets of 11 in mutable signs) there is ample energy directed toward experiencing and then moving to the next experience with the result quickly arrived at—been there done that, been there done that and that—reminding ourselves as mercury is still retrograde that I’ve hit my head against the wall enough times to recognize the way through this is not any of the ways that I have tried in the past. And therefore, what is it?
By doing nothing except accepting what is, in this moment, as an expression of the Absolute Reality occurring in physicality. We think it is so difficult, that we need to bash into our selves to get it but the opposite is true. “Sit’ in silence and be free. Thoughts will come and go—so. They have nothing to do with me; that is Reality. All those thoughts are a product of the past and are not relevant here and now. Let the winds sweep you away and know that it has not the ability to alter “that” our true nature.
All the challenges that may arise as a result of any tension at this time are merely showing up as an image on a screen that I project based on what I deem to be real—that which I identify with; the accumulation of patterns that have fallen upon these shoulders that is all part of a story with which I identify—an illusion as there is no individual for whom this can be true. There is only ‘source’ everywhere and everything Being.
In the midst of clashing molecules form arises. We understand the eternal nature of the ‘abiding’ that precedes all physical existence.
Mutable=flexibility, going with the flow that allows all things to appear on the screen of reality and to quickly pass away.
Grand Cross=dynamic, motivation to resolve tension.
I’ve tried everything! What’s next? The realization that ‘I” am that which is still.
At 11 degrees we know that “we” is all one and make every effort, no stone unturned, to overcome the limiting confines of relative perception. 11 is a master number where we first grasp freedom beyond separation–not two.
Introductory Intuitive Development Workshop
Anna Chapman Facilitator (www.pannachapman.com)
The veil has been lifted. Everything is available to us in every moment. All that we need ‘do’ is be still and receive.
Sunday, June 7th from 10-2:30 (with a ½ hr. break for lunch)
Place to be announced
112.00
Discover latent abilities or hone those you are in the process of developing. This workshop is an overview of the tools available for intuitive development and consultation—tarot, astrology, life after life communication; becoming aware of beliefs that may hinder clarity and hence the potential for a more receptive vessel.
Tarot cards are a powerful tool for opening the inner eye. Their pictorial symbolism speaks directly to our prime form of communication; something that is inherent to all people. With Tarot we connect on a deep inner level.
Astrology, also a symbolic language has many more facets inherent to its story. An ancient practice it has evolved into a system capable of psychological and spiritual analysis, prediction and location to mention a few areas where it has value. There are many facts about a natal chart to be assimilated, numerous books to be read which the intuitive nature can greatly assist with. There is basic knowledge that can be learned quickly to give one an in and make the entire process seem less daunting.
Life after life communication or mediumship is an area of intuitive experience that has received a good deal of attention recently. The Long Island Medium and John Edward demonstrate the impact of connecting with those who have crossed over. Issues that were left unfinished find resolution. Loved ones gain deeper insight into themselves and those who are no longer in a body. Healing is facilitated and evolution occurs on many levels.
