Gazing upon the Full Moon is to know stillness. In this moment there is no judgment, no desire to have it be anything other than it is. We have gazed upon this moon so many times. It is so much a part of our awareness that there is only peace as we arrive home. We are in a place of utter acceptance. The experience fills us to overflowing; boundaries fade and the moment becomes the unending sense of not two but one.

The Full Moon in Taurus is the awakening of the self assured. “I have”. In the early stages of discovery is acquisition until satisfaction is achieved. Then we stand in fullness that has nothing to do with anything outside of one self. This Full Moon in Taurus is Venus complete. The vision of the goddess rising from the sea, like the Full Moon, there is perfection and we ask for no more or different or better. We are content and there is peace. We no longer deny our selves or punish our selves by resisting acknowledgement of the source from which all notion of security is derived.

At this time is the potential for ‘elegant transformation’. The swan, head bowed, focused only on the mirror-like surface supporting it as it glides easily through time and space. The 5th harmonic of this Full Moon chart (the 360 degree circle divided by 5=72 degrees-two planets affected by this aspect called a quintile, have the unique ability to usher one into a place of potent manifestation once we traverse the rocky landscape of physical reality) has an exact t-square between Mars and the Sun/Moon opposition. Mars in Aquarius has the vitality to move us through the portal to understanding the fragility of physical existence or duality to the knowing of the Self eternal and the subsequent manifestation of the gifts particular to each individual.

In the natal chart for November 6 is a conjunction of Mars and Pluto in Capricorn—the movement and further disintegration of structures unsupportive to ‘healthy’ growth. The aspect is exact on November 10th and is accompanied by Venus edging closer to Saturn and a square from Jupiter; deep examination of personal desire that can influence all of our experiences, limiting clarity and Self expression—coming from the heart. At the same time is a sextile from Mars/Pluto to Pallas Athena in Scorpio and a sextile to Chiron in Pisces. This geometry is referred to as a small talent triangle that defines the nature of the ‘gift’. We have access to insight and wisdom and a sense of independence to successfully heal wounds that lie, in some cases, far below the surface. In fact the combination of these planets—Mars/Pluto and Pallas and Chiron in these signs—Capricorn, Scorpio and Pisces is a prescription for significant mending of the warp and weft of humanity—affecting each of us equally whether we are aware of this or not.

We continue in our daily endeavors perhaps oblivious to the powerful energetics occurring about us and so smoothly can these transitions carry us from A to B to C that we one day wake up without pain. And it may register barely an ah, hah.

Venus was prominent by aspect in the recent New Moon (conjunct the luminaries October 23) and is again both by natural rulership of the Moon and through proximity to the Sun though separating now. We have had a long hard look at what we want and now as Venus approaches Saturn we have the opportunity to expel excess baggage.

Our ‘efforts’ are continuous and of this we may be unaware. When we glimpse the ‘light’ as we may through the familiar observation of a Full Moon and all comes to rest in the heart, baggage or no baggage, we recognize home. Without the conditioning however we are free to observe everything from a place of stillness. In these next few days we are led into a deeper and profound connection to this peace.

New Moon and Partial Solar Eclipse October 23, 2014 @ 0 degrees Scorpio 25 min.

There is a vibrant energy that enfolds this New Moon/Solar Eclipse that will lead us into the light of Peace. Inner peace is outer peace is peace. No inner, no outer. Only the recognition that I am that! And then the ever present—abiding in that. Peace. Nothing is hidden though we are talking about a Sun, Moon,Venus and Pallas Athena conjunction in Scorpio. Everything is clear. Scorpio has the gift of inner knowing based upon deeply intuitive perception that can rise above judgment and definition. That is the essence of this New Moon—rising into clarity out of the story. The story serves to perpetuate our suffering. Some want what is not suffering.

For those who seek liberation from suffering there is a measure of wisdom that we can access now that allows us to see how we have been not been clear of our true nature. The eclipse acts as a gateway, the energy of which will continue to move us deeper into knowing for some time to come. It will only partially block the light of the Sun so that we are not immersed in darkness, unable to ‘find our way’. The ‘way’ will be so very apparent to us. Pallas Athena, a diamond on top of a cross, is symbolic for crystal clarity in physical reality.

This has the potential to awaken one from the illusion that I am this body/mind. There is a body and a mind but it occurs in physical reality as the absolute Reality not as anything separate from. There is therefore no separate individual. If there is no separate individual, there is no one to suffer. There is no thing that needs fixing, improving, modifying in any way. Absolute Reality is everything so that the concepts of more, better or different have no meaning except as a thought. All thoughts, being based on the past, have little relevance to me now.

What has relevance to me now? Just what is occurring in this moment. And I accept everything in this moment as an expression of the Absolute without judgment. No expectation. No suffering.

Scorpio has an awareness of the cycle that is humanity. That is birth, life, death and regeneration. This can inhibit the knowing of the true Self, the belief that this is what we are and destined to die. Scorpio may have a preoccupation with death. Scorpio also may know that death is simply another part of ‘life’. And that as Eternal essence we never die.
it is just what is happening not different than anything else that is happening. This is a very liberating realization.

Venus in Scorpio. What does she want? What is left when one has been there and done that repeatedly. Venus in Scorpio has experienced a lot—shadow and perversity and hunger. There is only one thing to satisfy the hunger and that is waking up right now to the Truth of Self. There is nothing else that brings lasting satisfaction except knowing that I am all that I have ever sought. And so it may be that in these few days preceding and following this lunar phase that you are possessed of the clarity that brings you home to truth. When nothing else is left and Scorpio ruled by Pluto has the power to eliminate all that does not serve us, bare to the bone, we recognize that this is my Self. I cannot define it, name it or comprehend it with the mind. It is therefore the most obvious thing to know the Self as all that is.

The result of this discovery is abiding in Peace. It is where we began. So that once we strip away the artifice our hearts express from the limitless ‘pool’ of emptiness that we call Love and Peace and Joy but that simply is. There is not a notion here of war. It simply will not exist. Mars the God of War (and Peace) is the other planet that aspects this New Moon. It is sextile, (60 degrees) from these luminaries in Sagittarius. As the ‘Hunter’ who seeks truth, his aggressive nature erupts as the passion to discover Reality. His arrow pierces the veil of illusion revealing what has always been right Here. When I turn my attention from the many distractions of the external world and have the absence of mind to Be in the stillness, then I discover what has always been known and my quest has ended.

At this New Moon in Scorpio it may not seem all that easy. Dismemberment is rarely comfortable. We may find that we linger in the shadow or indulge our selves more than usual but when hunger still has not been appeased, there will be planted the seed for self inquiry and awakening. Patience and acceptance are requirements for what takes place during this New Moon.

Good Monday Morning…one day after

Greeting you one day after but with a message for this Full Moon tomorrow: practice not taking things personally. In a time that could be fraught with contention, it is wise to just observe another’s behaviour knowing that it has little to do with you–if there was a you for it to have anything to do with. We are each a screen upon which we project what is being experienced in any moment that may be based upon input from various past but related experiences that might not involve you in any way at any time. Is this something you want to attach to in a way that causes discomfort or down right suffering? Probably not.

The issue of there not being a YOU–it does not mean that the physical body and the mind do not exist, it means that as something separate from the Absolute, they do not. The Absolute is referred to as “all that is” because? Well, because it is everything. That means “I am everything”–no separate existence; it is not possible.

Full moon In Aries, October 8 2014: Do we have a choice?

This Full Moon is aggressive, feisty and tempestuous! It has the potential to blast us free of tenacious emotional and behavioral patterns as Uranus, the great awakener conjuncts the moon and together they trine Jupiter and Mars–all in fire. Burn baby burn! The sense of security dearest to us may not be what serves us. In a flash of inspiration whatever it is that stands between me and the freedom to express my self fully (Aries “seeks self”) is heaved into the flames without hesitation. Mars in Sagittarius is impetuous, bold and thinks nothing of hurling one self over the edge of the cliff to deal with the consequences later. Well, guess what? There are no consequences. Not that makes any difference really.
Perhaps the ego suffers a little bruising as I give up thoughts that I should be this or that, something more, better or different; just more expectation that creates disillusionment.

Now there is the clarity to stand up to the ego and free one self from long held believes about the nature of our existence (none of which is true). This is accomplished with a great deal of enthusiasm (again thanks to Aries). Too long have we dawdled between what we erroneously assume is our responsibility here and really living life! Jupiter in Leo and ruler of Sagittarius suggests in a very loud voice that we go for it and express from the heart. It would be possible to become enamored of one’s own greatness, bigness, importance with this trine except for the very fortunate square between Venus in Libra and Pluto. Venus in Libra is about fairness, balance and harmony and Pluto in Capricorn is not likely to allow any desires for self promotion to stand in the way of real liberation. That is the whole point here.

This is another wake up call set for repeat. We are taking this rising into awareness seriously. As of October 4th, Mercury is retrograde in Scorpio, couldn’t get more perceptive and adept at finding what does not serve an individual; to release them selves from the discomforting thoughts of mortality. When Mercury went retrograde, the moon was in Aquarius ruled by Uranus the planet that now conjuncts the moon and insists on evolution for our highest good. We will shine our light. It is our deepest desire to dwell in the heart of the true Self. This takes us back to the Pluto square Venus aspect that eliminates individual desires that eventually leave one feeling lost and lonely once we have cycled through a pile of them to say, “now what?”

And if we consider that as Mercury went retrograde Saturn was squaring the moon in Aquarius we get an even clearer picture of what this Full Moon illuminates for us as well as this period of Mercury retrograde; that is disciplined and focused attention upon overcoming limiting emotional dependency. Anything I take personally has the potential to create separation in which case I can perpetuate the vicious cycle of neediness.

Of course there are a few side effects of the energy surrounding these few days that we may want to prepare our selves for. A fire grand trine is more energy than some can handle especially if the chart is predominantly water or earth. The essence of Truth, the rising of awareness may impel one to be rather blunt.

As the energy builds the momentum could drive you to excessively straightforward expression that seems foreign to your tongue. You may unwittingly offend dozens of people as you travel, a whirlwind unleashed and unstoppable, devouring all that moves and is unmoving only to find that there is no devouring taking place. All that lies in my path has always been a part of me—I am that. Finally, I lack the social conditioning to delude my self further. Thank God for that! Or my Self. Same thing. I am eternally grateful for continuous presence beyond all else and my determined-ness to wrestle the ego into a place of subservience long enough to know freedom, the joy of release.

It feels so good! Think about mending the scorched and tattered field of experience later. Maybe when I look back I will see there is nothing that requires mending; nothing out of place or in need of smoothing or soothing. So deep has the mind travelled of recent that words are not a factor in the consideration of any action or reaction. The mind dwells in a place of tranquility and stillness a place of thoughtless observance–peace. This is not a quiet Full Moon or one that is celebrated with the usual appreciation. This Full Moon demands our unwavering dedication to the light within. We may oooh and aaah at its splendid magnificence but deep within we know that it is my self that shines as brightly. It is my self that captures my attention as a shining luminary, as the object of my apparent desire. We need not move an iota to capture the essence of the one who stands staring with adoration at the silvery orb that has kept us company throughout the centuries and more.

New Moon in Libra September 2014: Protected Aft

New Moon September 23/24, 2014 @ 01 degrees Libra 8 minutes

I dreamed of an angel dressed in gold, golden hair floating on the breeze slipping
out from the fluttering wings that pushed me sideways. I peered around desire, reached out to hold onto fractured belief as it suddenly tumbled over the edge of rationality. The absence of the Moon made me feel that much lonelier. After awhile I dove into the abyss rather than stand in between wanting and knowing, a combination of courage, desperation and inevitability urged me there. The letting go was not even a thought. The letting go occurred as there is nothing to hold onto in any case.

This New Moon: Communicating through the spirit of equilibrium, communicating without words. Knowing without speaking what wants to be expressed. Feeling that the lack of effort is the most natural thing like the easy way in which butterflies are lifted from flower to bush.

Libra, where we look to the other to reflect to us—am I missing anything? What do I not see about my self that this other shows me? How I judge my self? Where I project my own fears? How I love my self…once we are past all of that, and it does happen to a greater or lesser extent for many people, what shows up is another aspect of Venus that is compassion, from the depths of the heart, great empathy for the human condition as it is all me. When I love my self, I love all things—one and the same. I do not support the story but am available as the essence of the Absolute, God, Allah, “that”.

We need not fear this Being that is beyond suffering. It does not mean ‘disappearance of this’, only a lack of attachment to this in a way that is not peace and harmony. How we define things can limit our opportunity to ‘let go’ or to commit to the pathless path; the journey to awareness—there is no separation only when I take things personally do I create separation or when I judge things or do not accept what is in this moment.

The need to get somewhere, do something, accomplish something along the path may cause frustration, anger, sadness. There is nothing that can be done as what we most desire, the freedom to Be, is. Do not cling to any thoughts as truth. They are all based on the past and have patience.

When we sip the tea imagine a clear sky, a comfortable chair. There is no where to go and no one to go anywhere. Rest in the knowing that everything I need is right here, right now in this moment. Whatever appears on the screen of awareness is based upon a thought from the past and no matter how ‘unsettling’ to the ego do not become immersed in the drama. It may be true, that no matter what we do, it has no effect at all upon the true nature, that which is ‘no matter’ what. Family calamity, political injustice, the abuse of personal power, has no effect upon the Absolute. It is the Absolute. Choice happens, reaction happens but the apparent result of these has no importance as it does not alter what is.

This New Moon: Is conjunct the fixed star Markeb in the constellation Argo Navis the great ship that carried Jason and the Argonauts to their goal of acquiring the Golden Fleece. Markeb is situated in the buckler of the ship. That is a position aft, a cover for a portal there that prevents water from accessing the interior of the ship. Like a shield then, it is associated with protection and in times of turmoil offers safety from elements that might otherwise turtle the ship. It instills great trust in whatever is happening and the realization that it is as big or small as my mind tells me it is. If my mind remains quiet, it is nothing at all. It is nothing at all.

The ego is lost. It finds no employment here. In the vast emptiness there is nothing for it to do, nothing to control. Breathing happens all by it self. The mist lifts to reveal calm waters that remain no matter what appears to be going on externally to that. I access the stillness. I am the stillness.

New Moon, in the darkness I see nothing, feel only my heartbeat. As the sun rises, the movie begins; the mind is called into action with its endless stream of suggestions. When once again I fall asleep there is nothing. If only, when the movie begins again, I might not recite the story of what I think is going on so that what is really happening might be witnessed without interpretation.

(From this limited perspective, this is what I have to offer. If you read between the lines though you may find the freedom there).

So it is that during this full moon in Pisces we find an opportunity to slip between the warp and the weft, to go beyond the mere capacity of our minds to control and manipulate our experience here. If we allow our selves to be vulnerable we may discover that the object of our fear is a vague thought whose inception is traced back to a moment of separation that jolted us into a new kind of awareness—existence in physical reality and all the seeming limitations that presented. Any thoughts about what might exist prior to this awareness seem only to end in nothing; end in a void so that the assumption of annihilation or non-existence would appear to be the alternative.

We are guided by subconscious yearnings that would mend the rift and lead us into realization of a seamless existence, pure authenticity, continuous unfolding from the heart. Utter knowingness of what is, as all that can be, and faith that there is nothing that needs to be different; nothing out of place and nothing to want. In the deepest folds of stillness there is rest, peace. What may have at one point been perceived as nothing/annihilation is in fact everything and I am ‘that’, not separate from. We have determination now to confront what has limited us from this knowing, from waking up to the great sea in which is form and what occurs when I no longer view the form as separate from the sea.

Tempted by the delicious scent of the wild with tenacious commitment to finding rather than losing Self, the freedom we have glimpsed as a result of the understanding that ‘this’ is perfection and therefore there is nothing to seek, becomes Reality. We linger in relaxation, floating, every pore wide open to the experience, nothing here between this and that, all one. My only task to Be. When I wake up in the morning I push aside the usual thoughts that want to drive me through the day and instead listen to the stillness that lies between each thought and stay there. I listen to my heart beat. I listen to the heart beat of others as though it is my own. It is my own.

I touch the sky, I caress the earth, wait for nothing, embrace everything. The heart overflows and is everywhere. The heart is always overflowing. During this full moon when we dive deep we keep on going, falling, rising, spinning in the overflow and infinitely grateful for the good sense to lose our minds. Pisces knows no limitations, no boundaries and succumbs to nothing, merges with everything without fear of no existence, without need to hold onto anything.
